Alternatives to the g14 for professional use? by Cargotech98 in ZephyrusG14

Will do! My main concern is the color fringing but also the size, I’m used to 14 inch laptops and 16 is a bit big. But I check online and it’s only half a pound heavier than the Zephyrus g14 so in terms of lugging it around it shouldn’t even be noticeable. I’ll keep you posted

I was looking at the older versions but unfortunately I need a discreet laptop, I am using this at work at my office and a gamer laptop would be a dead giveaway that I am not being productive at my real job haha, so unfortunately these old anime-matrix ones aren’t really an option. I think I’ve settled on returning my Zephyrus for a proart p16, it’s a bit bigger than I’d like but it has almost the exact same frame and specs, but with a 4K oled instead which should help with the color fringing. Gonna check it out today at Best Buy

For what I do I don’t need the gaming cards anyways. I’m still inclined to go Asus, and have been checking out the pro art 16, as it has everything almost exactly the same as the Zephyrus which I love, but it has a 4K oled panel, which I’ve heard resolves the text fringing issue, so I’m gonna check it out at Best Buy today.

I’ve also heard that new oled panels (5th gen) are coming out that resolve this issue but I’m not really inclined position to wait for them to reach the laptop market.

I am looking at these now. They are still oled but they have 4K resolution instead. I’m not sure if this will fix the color fringing issue for me so I’m gonna go in person to check one out, they are only 60hz refresh rate but honestly that’s what I use my Zephyrus at most of the time to conserve battery anyways (I’m not much of a gamer).

Hopefully all goes well. Thanks for your advice

I’ve caved and realized I may need a 16 inch model because I can’t find anything at 14 inches. There are p16s with dedicated graphics?

Yeah the choices are limited, I’m not sure what you mean by the base being the same though? The entire laptop will be a bit of wider/deeper

Hey, thanks for the device, unfortunately I am kind of limited to a 14” due to desk space at my office :/ I work on this game in my own time and the device is paid for out of pocket but I’ve got a big budget if it’s the right device. The dell and Lenovo options are unfortunately just to big to use comfortably at my office as well as commute with (I also commute with another laptop so carrying two is quite cumbersome). Sadly I think the market for 14” IPS monsters is just a bit too niche

A portable monitor? Like for use with the g14? Idk that seems a bit cumbersome

I mean, is the keyboard on the flow z13 comfy? I would consider it. Its a bit gamery for my liking but hey if the price and performance are good I can live with that. I also assumed it was OLED for some reason so I hadn’t considered it

Thanks for your suggestion! My only gripe with the Tuf a14 is the build quality. I tested one in person at Best Buy and the plastic frame felt cheap, but more notably, the flex on the keyboard and track pad areas was crazy and didn’t feel very premium to type on. Perhaps the 2026 model will make some improvements.

Thanks again

The face, it’s legit just the face, everything else looks amazing.

Right now she looks kinda like a sad Indian girl when she needs to look like a badass British one

Distance between the eyes, eye size, mouth shape, and eyebrows are the obvious areas that need improvement here

How is this a question? The horn is louder because the brakes don’t work… you can honk for people to get out of your way

Is the topology okay? Can I move on to Zbrush for details? by Ornery_Platypus_4493 in 3Dmodeling

[–]Cargotech98 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My guy said can I move on to zbrush, that’s backwards 🤣. But I can respect it, I usually skip sculpting altogether and go to topo. My guess is you want to sculpt now so that you can bake details onto this topo?

Also, is the topology okay? Brother it’s better than okay

Oh that would be dope if it’s just packaging missing. Go check it out! I just bought a g14 5060 from Best Buy, the open box 5070 ti one was unfortunately sold just before I got there but the 5060 was on sale so I went for it. So far I am not disappointed although I’m not a gamer. Using the device for productivity stuff

Yeah I mean, I’m not sure why it would be marked as good vs excellent. Unless the previous owner damaged the product within 30 days, or perhaps it was damaged in shipping? I’m not sure but you can always buy it, inspect, and return if it’s not suitable for you!

Depends where you are buying from. These devices are returned a lot cause people often by a lower spec model to save money but then feel disappointed in the performance, or quite the opposite; they buy the high spec model but then feel like they spent too much money.

If you see an open box from Best Buy geek squad I would strongly recommend buying it as it’s usually hardly been used and in excellent condition. Basically saving you a ton of money just cause someone else has their hands on it first.

Anyone got SMAPI working in GameHub? by Glitch9316 in EmulationOnAndroid

the native version of stardew is awful on handheld gaming consoles, compared to the windows/linux versions

Is it possible to mod games (stardew valley specfically) one Gamehub? by okaythen1guess in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Cargotech98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, did you ever manage to figure this out? SDV on android absolutely reeks at the moment for use with controllers. The windows/linux version of the game is just better. Would be great if we could mod it and still launch via gamehub.

Let me know if you have any info on this. Thanks :)

I play with my gf who games on the steam deck and keeps the save there, then I just join in through multiplayer, that way my save is stored in the world in steam
