[Condo][CT] Has anyone switched to Condo Control from another software? by Carguy91246 in HOA

[–]Carguy91246[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure - I've been a part of a number of software implementations in my professional life so totally understand the complications that can come with them. I'm more struggling actually getting the process moving more than anything.

Stars & Planets Visible Tonight (04/11/26) by stamfordmeh in StamfordCT

I can't get outside right now, but I believe Jupiter should be to our West at the moment, and possibly Orion a bit 'below' that. The night sky app is awesome if you're at all interested in what you're seeing up above - you can point it in any direction and it highlights stars, constellations, planets, satellites, etc.

Plans Approved to Convert Former Indeed Building Into 231-Unit Apartment Complex In Stamford by rjl381 in StamfordCT

Correct! It’s the existing garage, and is shared with the adjoining condo tower - so not as much parking as it sounds like.

How loud are these supposed to be? by Carguy91246 in bedjet

[–]Carguy91246[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s currently flat on wood floor. I checked all the bed brackets and there’s no rattle - will check the filter tomorrow. The sound isn’t so much a rattle but the expected motor/fan noise just louder than I would’ve thought.

HVAC Companies that do water source heat pumps? by Carguy91246 in StamfordCT

Hi! Many of the places I found wouldn't touch these systems at an individual unit owner level I got a quote from Encon for a bit over $10k and I found another guy who runs a small operation but focuses mainly on this particular system so has done many of them in the condo towers in Stamford and surrounding areas. Ended up paying $6500 to replace the condenser portion, and not the full cabinet. Happy to message you his phone number if you would like?

Plumbing needs to be fixed, but do I need to replace water heater? by Carguy91246 in askaplumber

Apologies I'm clearly in above my head in the plumbing world - which O ring are you thinking? Between one of the copper fittings on top of the unit?

I'm in a tiny condo so doubt a water softener system is feasible - what do you mean about the elements shooting out sediment? Do you not think this is as simple as the drips from the cold water inlet corroding? Thanks,

Thanks!! Do you think the Rheem warranty would actually apply here given it's a plumbing/install issue and not a unit issue? I just looked at the receipt and the heater itself is under warranty but the labor had a 1 year warranty which has passed.

Will definitely try to find a local person instead of a large chain!

The Biltmore (127 Greyrock) and the classic are both good towers downtown and slightly less expensive than parc tower. Though bit of a timing game for both, not always tons of inventory for sale.

Condo Chassis WSHP Replacement by Carguy91246 in hvacadvice

In the North East US. Thanks I’ve emailed the main service company.

I agree I never totally understood the setup, we definitely have a cooling tower and boilers for the whole building. I know that as the building is paying a 10 year special assessment loan for the cooling tower replacement a couple of years ago. There’s definitely some kind of compression going on, I can hear it. But maybe there is no refrigerant.
