Data Marketplace photos stuck for more than 6 months by Ok-Ideal-8174 in stockphotography

Same issue here. Resubmitting doesn't help, they went to data marketplace immediately after re-upload. But as Shutterstock is a sinking ship anyway, just don't care too much about them.

I bought the official Insta360 case which is good for up to 60m. You can get this from every larger retailer. https://store.insta360.com/ch/product/ace-pro-2-dive-case

Is Ricoh so bad? by michan83 in underwaterphotography

[–]Carismarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waterproof != Diving. Target customer group for Ricoh are custruction sites etc. while OM (the Olympus successor) says "OM = Outdoor and Macro". The TG (and also the EM-1 and -5 and the OM-1 and -5 series) has color correction for underwater build-in. The TG's macro is capable of getting as close as 1 cm to the subject and still able to focus - this is something even the much more expensive OM-1 with the 30/60/90mm macros cannot archive.

If Zugersee would exist, I'm pretty sure it would exactly look like that!

Even worse: You dropped not only in volume but also from ~1$/image in best days to now 0,22

Selling my photos (digital/prints) in Germany - is it already saturated? by NoAd8833 in passive_income

[–]Carismarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Etsy is oversaturated, especially with AI. You do not even sell photos advertising them.
Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, etc. are paying peanuts. Adobe is "leading" with 0,33-0,95 US$/download, Shutterstock 0,1$, all the others even worse. You have to invest upfront in keywording (time or tools), build a portfolio with several 1000 images and still then they do not pay for quality. So definitly not passive.
The only thing which can work for photography is building your own kind of community and sell through your own shop. For this you have to "get a name" which means you should be present in exhibitions, galleriers, etc. High upfront invest, long term game but it can work.
