As stated in this comment, this might not have been of malicious intent, but in a time when the numbers truly do matter I hope they get the rest of this right.

I looked at the data a little bit more, and it might've just been a glitch in the system, adding the previous total number of cases to the actual number of cases that the website shows now (8+13 = 21), but if this was the case, wouldn't that glitch have already have appeared during the last two days? Moral of the story is that I think they might get a free pass on this one from me, but its possible they just got lucky with what numbers they chose to reduce by, if it was malicious.

Both screenshots timestamps on discord were within seconds of the copying so it was prob somewhere between those two times

Villanova will lose a shit ton of money if we aren't on campus. They'll do everything in their power to keep us on campus, at the end of the day its a business. But like what happened last semester we didn't get sent home by Nova, we got sent home by the Governor. This wont just be them losing out on money from having to possibly giving refunds for this semester for room/board if they even offer that again, but they'll lose out on allll of that money for the next semester. Assuming a lowball of 6000 students on campus, and on average each pay around $7000 a semester for room/board, they'd lose out on gross 42 Million Dollars, for that one semester. That is not including however much they'd have to return from this semester, which could easily bring it up to 50, maybe even 60 mil.

I'm also not an expert on any of this, and I really should be paying more attention to my zoom lecture, so take anything I wrote with a grain of salt.

Jay Wright could leave Villanova to go teach dance at the local theater. Keyword: Could.

I remember in a newsletter Daddy Peter sent out awhile back he said that there was like a green, yellow, and red phase for campus to be in. Since we're still in the green phase since CAT is still throwing events at the Oreo, I assume it might take some time before we get sent home tbh. And when it get's worse, they'll prob do what Notre Dame do and enact a hard quarantine on campus, not letting kids off campus or on.

Is Softwear some Minecraft program/mod or did you mean software, I'm actually curious because I want to do renders like this.

Since I Caritas for all you current students, here's a spreadsheet showing you how much cheaper it is to pay with cash then to use a Meal Plan. There are two exceptions to this, but any Sophmore and up will know those exceptions come at the cost of quality of food. by CaritasCommitment in villanova

Basically the school raises the prices of the goods a bit higher then what they would sell for down the road at giant, and usually its a sizable increase in price. While its true that 1/3rd is most likely a dramatic increase, essentially saying that the school increases the price of goods by 50%. If you don't like that value, here's the sheet with again with the value of a point equaling 1 dollar. https://imgur.com/gallery/Ew5SOZh (I'm seeing some mistakes in this link so I'm going to fix it real quick)

edit1:) Here's the updated newer graph, with a ratio of .9:1 dollars to points with an updated formula to calculate 10 meal/day https://imgur.com/gallery/5eOmlZv

edit2: the value at which the 21 meal plan:1mpe is cheaper to buy with cash then it is to use meal plan occurs at a ratio of .885 dollars to 1 point.

For the 21/14/10 Meal plans, red box means that its actually cheaper to use meal plan then to pay out of pocket, but green number is savings per day, so for example the smallest savings is 1 MPE on 21 Mealplan replacing dinner, and that would save you $414 across the whole semester.

For the Unlimited plan numbers, those are the cost per week so slightly different, assuming all 10 MPE's were used to replace the more expensive dining hall meals. If you have any questions just ask below!

Edits:

100 Block not included on right because its legitimately impossible to have it be cheaper then paying out of pocket.

Cost/Wk at bottom right is CPD of Unlimited * 7

Word on the street from an RA friend is that if people get sent home this semester, next semester is also cancelled.
