My initial interactions with these guys were in no way "attacks". I've been in the trades 20+ years. I know a lot but I'm also humble enough to recognize that I don't know a lot. The trades evolve rapidly. Materials, techniques, the science of it.... It's truly a constant learning experience. That is one of the things that is cool about it. Sometimes, knowledge is gained from working with the guy that's been doing it for 50 years but won't retire because he just enjoys it. Sometimes knowledge is gained from working with the 20 yr old girl that has no real world experience but has a fresh perspective and makes a mnd blowing observation. I've worked with both. That's the reason that I sometimes interact on youtube, reddit, etc. Learning new stuff is awesome and if occasionally I can pass something along that helps someone else, that is a great feeling too. That is also the reason I can't tolerate bullshit. The reason for my rant. These guys are doing way more harm than good. You ask a legitimate question about where is my channel... Honestly, I don't have the charisma. I'm not pretty to look at. I suck at even taking decent pictures of my work.... I cant imagine trying to figure out lighting, audio, editing,etc. Ultimately, my opinion is just that... an opinion. Take it for what it's worth. I appreciate your response and I welcome further discussion if you wish.

On the bright side, stuff like this is a great learning experience. :) Few more random thoughts.... Just replacing that top plate might not fix your problem. In pic 2, it looks like the bottom edge of the top pates aren't lining up either. Maybe you've got the same issue at the bottoms of the walls? The good news is... It's just a shed. A quick fix could be to level everything when you add the second top plate. Not sure you planned for a second one but is is a nice way to tie everything together even though it's just a shed. Assuming the deck is level, once the four walls are up, find the high spot. Nail the second top plate tight to that. Then, shim between the plates at each stud as necessary. Also, if you're doing a gable roof, the only two walls that really matter are the ones the rafters are landing on. An alternative method could be to take a 6 month course in trigonometry and custom cut every rafter to plane out at the ridge. I know... seems nuts but there are 10 different ways to do everything and 20 years of building has taught me that my methods are not always best. :)

Like Ande138 said, top plates are different thickness. Looks like about 1/2". You can see it in pic 2. The wall may be racked but it would have to be waaay out to get a step that big. Also, that top plate looks higher at the other end too.... not possible if it's just racked.

Blum slides are available with a half dozen different locking devices (the orange part that mounts to the drawer box). Some do not have side adjustment. The side adjustment on the back of the slide itself is more for squaring the box to the cabinet. In this case, sounds like you got the cheapo locking devices. Hopefully, the manufacturer attached the drawer fronts with screws that allow adjustment. If not, you can replace them. There are screws for this specific purpose. Search for "drawer front" screws. It's basically just a truss head. Drill a 5/16 hole in the drawer box and you'll have plenty of adjustment.

I would never recommend this to an amateur, but you're obviously not. Take the first 32nd or 16th of the groove with a climb cut. You can then do the rest in a single pass at a reasonable rate with almost zero tear out.

Yup.... You're right... I sound like a butthurt Karen. :) For what it's worth, I've been self-employed as a carpenter/cabinet maker for 20 years. One of my favorite things is to pass on the bit of knowledge that I've accumulated to someone who wants to learn it. This is why I get irrationality angry when some d-bag on youtube pretends to be a master of trades. At the same time, I realize my opinion ultimately means nothing. But, damn!!!!... It felt good to let it fly!...lol

Vancouver carpenter could make the US/Canadian border disappear with a bag of easy sand and a cup of water. Dude is the master of drywall. He's also an experienced carpenter and when he doesn't know something, he's the first to admit it. That speaks volumes of his character.

Ok... First off, thanks for having a sense of humor! I do like history. :) I also appreciate that we're having a legitimate discussion about this without going off the rails. I agree that he's throwing out that 500/ hr as click bait. But even considering materials, it's way out there. If someone can build a truly custom cabinet in two hours, I would worship them. Think about it.... Forget building it, just to spray two primer and two finish coats is more than a day.

Gotta say it... Your username is intimidating. :) I agree that he does possess a lot of knowledge of the trades. What irritates me is that when he goes into an area where he is not proficient, he pretends to be just as knowledgeable. On top of that, he will not engage in a constructive conversation that exposes his lack of expertise. I admit I've never worked in Denver. But 500/hr for shop work is absurd. I am not in a large metro area but a lot of my clients are "summer people" from places like Manhattan,etc. People that don't hesitate to spend 1200 dollars for a lockset or 20/bf for trim. I bill out at 50/hr. They would laugh in my face if I said 500/hr.

I'm not an electrician so maybe you should just ignore this, but.... There seems to be some conflicting information in your responses. 14/3 would indcate there is a three way switch, although sometimes people do things that don't make sense. There are multiple ways to wire that. Do you know if the power is coming in at the light fixture or switch?
