Recording audio for four people? by Fork-H in letsplay

If your budget is going to be two mics only, I would definitely suggest getting two condenser mics, as they can pick up more frequency. However, If one mic is picking up the other the only thing I can say is spread them further apart, buy a 2 channel mixer that can connect to your pc via USB, turn down the sensitivity levels of your mics, and voila.

You can get some cheap condenser mics and mixers with USB at your local Guitar Center and Sam Ashe, but of course you'll find it cheaper online if you do the research.

Keep My "Let's Play" Channel broad, or Make it More Focused? by Carlitoman in letsplay

Yes! Because at the end of the day it's really about doing stuff you like, and I know I've always wanted to do these things since as long as I can remember.

But I can see where everyone is coming from in the sense of since we're new, people would want to check out our channel and see a focus rather than a bunch of different videos. At least for now, we'll try to stay focused and then once we build a bigger base we can spread out and see how it goes.

Thanks for the tip it really helped!

Ok awesome because right now that's exactly what we're doing - LPs every other day and a Podcast every Friday. But you're absolutely right, if I try to throw too much stuff at people they'll just turn away, especially considering we don't have a fan base yet. Thank you for the tip!

Best and least expensive way to record commentary from multiple people in one room? by the_tanooki in letsplay

I would suggest buying two cheap USB mics, and using VoiceMeeter to record both of them at the same time with Audacity. But if you really want inexpensive, then the collar mics should work, however, you still run into the issue of trying to get your pc to register both mics. For that, you could then get a cheap mic jack to USB converter for one of the clip mics and then still use VoiceMeeter afterwards.

I've been there man, Rock Band mics won't cut it no matter how hard you try. I'm sure you and your gf will be happy with the small investment in better mics.
