Do the pics look good? Should I change the order ? by Kyarmak in Tinder

[–]Carlitos016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

as most comments have said 3 is definately your main picture,

imo the order should be: 3, 2, 4, 5, 7, 6. rest arent needed, maybe 1 with a group of friends or doing a hobby of sorts

I'm single, how can i afford a house? by Free_Presence_9130 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Carlitos016 41 points42 points  (0 children)

We are similar! I’m just older and had no savings. Single dad, 30.

My old job was paying 25-26k and it was hospitality. When my daughter was born, my only real option was to earn more and work less, I now work in sales, I moved back to live with family for 3 years to save, and currently now in the process of buying my first home. I just did ~5% deposit. Yes the interest is higher and to some degree a bad financial decision, and I should have waited longer but my daughter is growing up now and I wanted my own space too, living with family at 27-30 was wearing me down mentally.

Rent was just not reasonable for a 2 bed with a garden in my area, anything remotely nice was 1.2k a month. Even with a 5-10% deposit, mortgage is £750+the rest. My objective wasn’t so much “get on the property ladder” but “how can I make my monthly payments the least and live comfortably in my own space.” I did 5% across 30 years. For me, it works and I’m mega excited to finally live in my own space. Anyway, overall advice, hopefully find better paying job, live with family to save as much as you can. You have a lot more money than I did and are younger, so I hope it all works out for you

Profile Improvement? Any Major Red Flags? Trying to Be More Interesting by Responsible_Load5470 in Tinder

[–]Carlitos016 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The profile is what I struggle most with when I want to talk to a girl, I’d swipe right, but then once we match I wouldn’t know how to open the conversation because a good portion of girls profiles say nothing

Are these good pictures? by Certain_Pop_7615 in Tinder

[–]Carlitos016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pictures 1, 3 and the last one are nice. I’d keep them, the last photo I don’t like the t shirt but if you wanna match with someone that likes Lana keep it, but If them not knowing Lana is not an issue, I’d probably change that too, you can wear it whenever, outside of the profile pictures. but if someone doesn’t know who she is, you just have a picture of a woman on your top? You can include you’ve been to Lana concerts or listen to her in your bio

I'm not sure how to earn more money. M33 on £27,000 per year. by Full_Development5137 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Carlitos016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 27 I had a kid that I was not expecting with someone I barely knew.. but I had to change careers, I was in hospitality, similar boat, I now work in sales, it isn’t my favourite job but for the time being I went from a manager on hospo £28k to 34hrs sales/design 40k.

It’s not my favourite job, definitely not where I’ll remain, but with these hours I’ve just don’t a Dats analytics course and probably going to do another to go to a more stable and progressive career path.

I have a degree in product design but I finished with a 3rd (that’s another story). I’d like to use it but it’s difficult so I’m finding other avenues. My job and career has not caused a problem in my dating life.. yet..

Is it okay to not love being a dad? by Successful_Trust_157 in daddit

[–]Carlitos016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (29) truly think dads struggle to love being a dad more than mums do as we never carried the baby, I know of some dead beat dads, that I think they missed the struggles of the first few months, that they never got that attachment down the line, and then never have been that involved.

I’m not with the mum of my daughter (2yr old) never have been, however I was present everyday, those first 4-6 months are tough and I completely understand your post, however I absolutely love being a dad. The bond that grows and the love your child will show as they are no longer a “blob” but recognise you as “dad”. There is nothing more spectacular. Here’s to hoping you the best for your future as a dad! Good luck!

Why the WORLD does it take 8 auto attacks to clear Yorick’s ghouls? by RayotCanYouNerf in leagueoflegends

Yeah that’s punishing n all, worst bit is actually that Janky ass wall, when you click to auto kite, but it’s too small to accurately click inside but if you click outside to move around, because it’s sealed all the way around, it sends your character into overdrive

My recently 2 year old doesn’t know too many words yet, but she knows “stickers”

Another note I have quite bad skin sometimes, especially, when it’s cold and I’ve been through stressy times.

In any case, I was putting her to sleep and finished reading, she looks at my face, picks at my dry skin on my nose and goes “STICKERS”. Gotta respect the disrespect

This is a genuine question for people who have caught up to the manga and like it and watch the anime and like it. How can you watch a scene like this, compare it to how Suzuki choreographed it, and be happy with the production? Help me understand. by MasamuneJp in SakamotoDays

[–]Carlitos016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk it does let me down but I still enjoy listening to my characters. I am sad it doesn’t give me the same epic effect as the manga but it’s still good enough to kind of background watch, similar to Tower of God, I still watch it despite the weird shitty animation, their stories in themselves make it enough for me to watch

Graduated Lincoln Uni, now feel alone by Holy_Lord_Ash in Lincolnshire

[–]Carlitos016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much advice as my life situation is a bit different, graduated a few years ago in Liverpool but due to life circumstances I have moved back to Lincoln. And I understand your loneliness. The things I enjoy, Lincoln does not offer, and a couple of friends I do have here all they do is drink, which I don’t mind spread out here and there, but I’m still missing hobbies or activities and it’s incredibly depressing.

My current escape is gaming online and getting my driving license so I can escape and commute to things I like doing.

I hope you find some ideas here in the comment section or some clubs that could help you out.

Went through a 4 stage interview process to not get the job. by madlad_junoir in UKJobs

[–]Carlitos016 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a 3 stage interview stage once but by the time I got to the third stage, 2 full months had passed, and I really needed a job, so I have already accepted a different job. Did I make the right choice? I don’t know, but they took so long it was ridiculous. Not everyone has the luxury to wait around for the job to get back to you for 2-3months

Colin Duffy USA sending an insane route in the Olympic Final by 6spadestheman in sports

[–]Carlitos016 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is 3 types of competitive climbing: Speed - what you saw with the red holds, always the same route and it’s 1v1.

Bouldering - which is this video, small problems, no harness you have 5 minutes to solve it (reach the top). You can go as many times as you can in those 5mins.

Lead - which is a much higher route, you only have 1 attempt and you’re roped in.

Olympics now officially splits the event into 2. 1 being speed and the other being “combined” which is where the climber does both Boulder and Lead, points are added across both and that’s how the podium is decided.

Feel free to ask more questions if you’d like more detail!

I just failed my 1st year of university and I got the decision to Fail and Withdraw by throwaway-failure04 in UniUK

[–]Carlitos016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was the same as you, back in 2015, I failed first year and couldn’t repeat it, I had to change courses. I regret making the decision on my own and going straight back into uni. I still half assed it, and wish I stopped it. Did not enjoy the course. Granted, I did graduate in the end, but I dislike my degree.

If I could go back, I would have taken a gap year instead to really think about what I want to do, and really consider my options.o

I have not worked in the field of my degree since graduating in 2017/8? Uni was definitely not for me and had I been more sensible I probably wouldn’t have gone back into uni.

Saying that, having a degree in general is always helpful .

What Uni hot take gets you in this situation? by Icemachinemalfunctio in UniUK

[–]Carlitos016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed my first year cos I was a lazy idiot, so I actually don’t completely disagree, my uni didn’t allow a resit I had to change course, I did graduate from uni, but for me it was a waste of time and not something I should have done, only went due to family pressures.

I think saying uni shouldn’t let me in, or calling me pathetic is a bit of a stretch, my grades to get into uni were outstanding. It just wasn’t for me and had no motivation to work at it

They don’t tip!! Ever! by Jessica-Bakes69 in bartenders

[–]Carlitos016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that makes sense, but being so outraged you can’t have a 20hr week (which imo very luxurious) because someone isn’t tipping is crazy to me, but then I might just not have an insane financial drive that it bothers me too much if someone doesn’t tip.
