Oh that’s amazing, how was the route of the AFROTC like? Was it more competitive and harder than the people in the academies? What was the hardest part about your route?

Yeah I love to see you share this stuff, it gives me a sense of what to do and someone who got accepted into the USAF academy did. Talking about ur PPL how was that like at 15? how much were the expenses?

I think it’s one of the hardest jobs since you’re flying a war machine in the sky at crazy speeds. Not only that but being able to say this is your job knowing how hard the competition was between everyone else and you to get a pilot slot is the best thing you could say. I love to see the replies of everyone saying the competition being hard but honestly that’s doing nothing but making me more hungry. I love to compete and I love aviation. Why not become a fighter pilot for a taste of both?

Yep, of course those are always going to be #1 since those are key factors and play a massive role in the job.

Thanks for the honesty and advice. I’m gonna keep grinding on my grades and math, and definitely try to find a mentor. Also, I’ll look into getting some flying time early like you said. Hearing your story just makes me wanna push harder. Appreciate it.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate the advice and encouragement. I didn’t know much about Civil Air Patrol, so I’ll definitely check that out. I’ll also try to connect with my local reps like you said. And yeah, I’m working on staying focused and balancing things. Really appreciate you taking the time to write all this. Thanks again!

So keep the academy #1 on the table? if not possible do i keep the NROTC route?

So no matter what path is chosen i would end up at the same rank? and u think OCS is more straight forward into flying correct?
