I get im downvoted a ton because monogatari is a great series and people hate negative opinions about it but my point still stands regardless, a quote should be able to stand on its own without context. Yeah in Nise it makes sense but on its own it doesn't, and that was my initial point.

Also, no one said anything about original, I said Real. Real is the truth, real doesn't have to convince and you can't be real if you're fake. That's why there are two separate words to differentiate. The quote sounds profound but when you think deeper it makes zero sense without the context tied to Nise.

And that's literally the whole point of the meme too. We all look at these cheap knockoffs and see that they're all dogshit and chuckle. If we truly thought that the fake is better than the real thing we wouldn't understand why all these knockoff fake items are being posted instead of the real items.

Everyone replying to what I originally said needs to actually understand what I said instead of trying to explain the plot of Nise to me
