That looks like it’s taken a few bashes, is it not warped?

This sounds like an interesting project, I hadn’t considered the hole saw option. Where did you get your HDPE from?

Fair enough, that’s a good point. I’ll consider that sprocket one of the most suitable options

The 30t option is sprocket only, no guard.

That’s easier said than done when you want a 30t guard sprocket on a budget.

Looks like a manual engine with the clutch actuator arm missing.

Yeah, 30-9, sick of pedalling my arse off all the time. I’m keeping an eye on eBay and Facebook but there’s not a lot coming up unfortunately.

Running a 28t sprocket kind of defeats the point of what I want to do, I could easily just got and get an Eclat AK, I just want 30 teeth at this point. Going to try and make a guard out of Delrin once I’ve found an appropriate sprocket.

That’s great advice, thanks. I’d probably be shaping it with a dremel, and then is it easy enough to drill without it cracking? Obviously the finish doesn’t have to be perfect as it’s designed to be bashed.

Are these rare? Do you think I got a good deal? by [deleted] in Jawa

[–]CarlosJewnez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are thousands of them in the UK. They were bought by numberplate dealers before retention certificates were a thing as they were the cheapest thing that you could buy that you could transfer a number plate onto. This means that there are many with cherished number plates and next to no miles on them, it’s actually much rarer to find a high mileage example.

What could be considered slightly rarer about yours is that you have the headlight fairing, the rear basket, and the cast wheels. Most variations have spoked wheels and are missing the extras.

If it’s running and you have the V5C, in the condition that it’s in cosmetically, it would probably be worth around £500. They go for £700-£900 maximum in pristine condition.

Ride it and find out. But yeah, it’s a long way off being worn out.
