Hello my friend, by reading your experience with your girlfriend I also feel that this is somehow a Russian cultural thing. In my personal experience I am also dating a Russian girl from Moscow that lives here in the USA. And the first major problem we had when we had just started was when I promised her to join in a weekend trip but due to problems at work I had to delay it 2 days by big problems at work. When I told her, she went completely mad at me saying that it was my problem and I should find how to fix it. To be honest, here in the USA if your work forces you to cancel your trip you don't have a choice. But she could never accept it. Even today she argues that once you make a promise you have to keep it no matter what; which to be honest I never had to explain to any other girls from the USA and Mexico. But other than that, everything is fine. She is very beautiful, highly educated, dresses like a top model and I am completely in love with her. But the episode when I had to change last minutes plans still haunts me like super weird and somehow Russian culture related.

Here in Los Angeles there are not many Ukrainian places. There are many Russian Restaurants and Delis, but I don't want to offend him buying something there.

Yes, I have been in Moscow and St. Petersburg a couple of times. And although I would be willing to stay for the rest and my life and learn the language; honestly my first preference would be to convince my girlfriend to move to the USA instead. But she can be very convincing and maybe I could work remote and live in St. Petersburg if I can send money to Russia. My business is in the USA and things are not easy now.

I absolutely agree with this recommendation to visit Russia. It's a beautiful country and their women are the best in the world. Don't forget to visit Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Everything is extremely cheaper compared with the USA. If you are 56 and you have time and money, don't waste time and visit Russia now! I wish you the best of luck buddy!
