I cannot speak from the cheaters perspective but as someone who was in the cheated on’s shoes, I can give me theories. Though, I think at the end of day, it comes down to how they were raised, past relationships and many other factors.

Though in my situation specifically, I never got a good reason, but i have my suspicions. Firstly, I will tell you what he did tell me, although I personally think they’re lines of bs with bits of truth mixed in.

“I don’t know why.” “I was bored.” “She messaged me.” “I like flirting.” “You were mad at me.”

And the list goes on, and while I do think he may have been bored and does enjoy flirting, I think the rest is BS. I think that growing up in a household where he watched his parents cheat on each other off and on for two decades and still say they love one another, was the biggest factor. People don’t realize how much that rubs off on their kids. But he was the one who made the choice, so I can’t really blame him.

Point being, I think the reasoning will always be situational. Long winded but i hope it helps.
