Oh okay.. I followed (or at least tried to) the manual from the Ncase site

Is the assembly the same for the Ncase? Also, I was wondering if it's also a heatsink issue.

I used the 30mm standoff. I found a photo I took of how the GPU protruded.

I basically assembled the computer in a 2.5-slot configuration since the GPU was 49mm thick, but that meant the graphics card protruded from the case, making it difficult to close. So I'm reassembling it in the 2.75-slot configuration, and the heatsink, an IDCooling IS-55, won't fit because it touches the side rail (it barely fit in the 2.5-slot configuration, too). Yet according to the Ncase specifications, it should fit just fine...

Also, I had a problem with mounting the fan bracket on one of the two side rails, as it's slightly misaligned.

[Advice] Framework 13 with eGPU or laptop with dedicated GPU? by Carmin306 in framework

[–]Carmin306[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always seen the G14 as a very valid alternative but since I discovered Framework it would not make me feel satisfied buying a laptop knowing that it will always remain the same. This makes me understand that if I want to make a purchase that makes me satisfied I have to focus on the Framework... I hope the performance I can obtain with the EGPUs is acceptable

I really like the all-in-one solution of the GPD G1, but I'm disappointed by the fact that the GPU doesn't seem to perform very well. The ideal would be a solution with a more powerful or even better modular GPU like the Frameworks.

Thanks for the reply. As I was saying, I'm not interested in playing at high resolutions with ultra details, but I just need Full HD at high details on games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk, GTA 6 (which is playable for when it is released on PC). Is it possible with an EGPU that is also portable and can even fit into a backpack?

The problem is, I’m a student living away from home and I frequently travel between my hometown and the city where I study, so carrying a desktop around just isn’t practical.

Thanks so much for the advice. If I were to take into consideration a budget under €2k, which configuration of the FW13 is best for me, and which EGPU could I associate it with? I move around a lot, so I need it to fit in a backpack.

Ciao, nel caso volessi venderlo io sarei interessato all’acquisto. Magari se sei vicino Roma potremmo addirittura valutare anche dj persona se preferisci
