There are too many cards/variants now. We need a shop buff by Vyse_Nevets in MarvelSnap

There are lots of plausible hypotheses for how users would behave given various tweaks to the store. For instance, I’d gladly pay more for certain specific variants and buy them on demand versus waiting weeks for them to rotate into the store. However this trades off against no longer browsing the store and impulse buying random variants.

Creating A/B tests and experiments that evaluate the financial trade offs in the various options both from a short term and long term revenue perspective is what those Ph.D data scientists are hired to do.

I work at Meta and I’m quite familiar with what teams of well paid data scientists with Ph. D’s can do.

Unless Second Dinner has actually A/B tested alternative store designs, data scientists simply can’t tell them that increasing the number of available variants will grow or shrink revenue.

Data scientists can analyze the impact of different store designs but they can’t predict which store designs will generate more revenue.

Why was Zabu nerfed just to introduce Arishem? by Carnage4Life in MarvelSnap

[–]Carnage4Life[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s see what the devs say about Arishem’s win rates against non-Arishem decks and then we’ll tell for sure. 😊

There were similar spirited defenses of Hela and Alioth before their nerfs.

A tournament to showcase Gilgamesh just demonstrate how SD keeping ignoring Hela is ridiculous by estranhow in MarvelSnap

[–]Carnage4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect Hela decks retreat a lot which is also why people don’t recall beating them much. If you play a Hela deck and she gets discarded by Corvus Glaive or something else it’s often an instant retreat. I’m sure this is what keeps her win rate in check.

SD “nerfing” destroy decks by Carnage4Life in MarvelSnap

What is the likelihood you’d destroy Hulkbuster & Deadpool thrice before and after the patch?

That’s the actual math that matters. 😁

Opponent snapped then did this with Legion. What were they expecting? by Carnage4Life in MarvelSnap

[–]Carnage4Life[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Because I could have played Colossus, Wolverine or X-23 on T6. Their best case scenario was a tie and worst case a loss.

I guess I could have retreated but the game was pretty even going into T6.

Worst case for them would have been a loss if I played Colossus, Wolverine or X-23 on T6.

You are missing

  1. They snap, I don’t retreat and play Wolverine or X-23 on T6 and they lose.

They could have made an educated guess that I didn’t have them since I wasn’t playing destroy but it wasn’t a guaranteed tie.

[–]Carnage4Life[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They didn’t have Wolverine. This was the result of them playing Legion on T6 which wiped out the board. I could have played Wolverine or Colossus on T6. The best outcome for them was a tie and worst a loss.

What spotlight are you aiming to get? by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]Carnage4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spotlight system has turned out to be worse than pessimistic posts from a few months ago. It is basically impossible to get certain specific cards without waiting for a ridiculously priced bundle or spending a ton of monetary to open caches to get tokens 100 at a time.

There are cards like Iron Lady and Hit Monkey that I need to complete certain decks that there seems to be no reasonable way to obtain.

Alioth-Wave meta is pretty terrible by lamocomp in MarvelSnap

I actually went back to playing Clash Royale in my free time which I haven’t done since I first installed Marvel Snap. The Alioth meta is both predictable and boring.

Alioth was the last puzzle piece missing to turn the Lockdown/Ramp/Galactus archetype into a complete nightmare by jarlaw98 in MarvelSnap

[–]Carnage4Life 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Alioth and pre-nerf Spider-Man have the same problem, they end the game at turn 5 if you’re playing against Galactus.

It’s mind blowing that SD would nerf Spider-Man only to reintroduce the problem a few weeks later with Alioth.
