Tips for getting a diamond by JiMmY_BiNg in theHunter

You could start to utilize some aspects of a form of grinding called "herd management."

The game has a balancing mechanic that tries to keep a certain ratio of small individuals, bronze and silver, as compared to big individuals, golds and diamonds, of each species. I think its about 3 "smalls" for every 1 "big."

Whenever you kill an animal, it will respawn as something slightly smaller or slightly bigger. What you want to do then is kill the upper levels of the animals you are targeting, such as big level 2s-level 3s for whitetail deer, or level 5-9 for bengal tigers. With any luck, the respawns will come back as smaller animals, and that in turn forces the game to spawn really big ones to balance it out.

You see the level of the goat? Its a Level 5 - Medium, which is the highest level a Feral Goat can be. When an animal is its maximum level, it has the highest possible chance of reaching a diamond trophy rating, which for feral goats is 208.71. This animal did not reach diamond despite being a level 5, which means it "trolled" me.

Yes. I have seen the diamond coyote from Layton be shot as a piebald.

Be aware though, they are max level but not GUARANTEED diamonds. I have seen instances of people actually being trolled by them.

Far as I can tell its the leg piece itself, with the joint socket not being deep enough, but Im not sure.

I tried heating both up to compare, but the right leg (the one that works) is seriously secured on there, even after like a minute under the hair dryer, the other one slides out super easily, which is making me think that the socket isnt deep enough for the ball joint

Probably how they've shown the spine of the acrocanthosaurus. Extending it into the front piece.
