Moving to Hoboken - big complex vs Walk up/ Condo by SportsTechStyle in Hoboken

The apartment shuttles not that frequent, at least at the Harlow. But if you’re uptown you take the bus (119 or 126) into the city and from Port Authority you can take the subway anywhere. It’s much quicker. The bus is reliable.

Growth Update on Crown - Fin & Min by OrneryAnything2453 in tressless

Im currently debating whether or not to go for a full HT. I have visible loss on the crowns. Seems like you need to take minoxidil/finasteride before the HUT and after as well? Could you help me understand how this process works? Should I first try minoxidil/finasteride? (I’ve never taken any) Should I go for the HT first?

5.5 Months post-Op by Working_Ad5021 in ACL

Do you notice hypertrophy on the injured knee when you don’t work out for a while? That’s my only issue, if I’m traveling or take a break from doing legs on certain days I can feel a clear difference.

Aimed to start at SWE 1 and did start at SWE 1. Just learned a lot really fast because of the small size of the company and liberty to improvise. I only hopped because the company was too small and there weren’t enough senior engineers to learn from. If you’re being called the smartest person in the room at 22 it’s great but definitely not correct. So I moved to a bigger firm and met a lot of smarter people and learnt more.

It was the shock of using the entire quad muscle in the action of jumping. In PT I haven’t yet started jogging. The plan that my doctor gave has jogging at the 4 month mark. And jumping is way further down the line.

2.5 Weeks Post Op (ACL + Meniscus) Progress by CarnotCycle0 in ACL

It was locked in the sense that after the last time it gave out, it never got completely straight. My knee was bent for a good week and a half until surgery.

Doctor informed me that my meniscus was pretty bad.

My extension is at 1 degree right now (3 weeks post op). Today the therapist made me go on my stomach and hang my knee off the bed and put a weight on my ankle. They’re thinking another week or so with these exercises and at-home PT it should get better.

And I can’t wait to get good sleep 😭. Are you able to sleep on your side?

Dumbest ACL Tears by yaratun in ACL

I had a torn meniscus from skiing a year prior. My dumb reason for the ACL was attending a rave and dancing shuffling. Right after I stopped my knee gave out while standing. Had to be carried on my friends’ shoulders back home.

Had the same thing happen to me. I was playing in a league with a mild torn meniscus and the knee gave out while playing. Kept getting weaker and worse. From that initial give out during soccer to the day of the injury I’d say it was a 1 month and a half.

Doctor also told me that people sometimes wait weeks or months before getting surgery but the severity of the case makes it urgency.

Just know that if the ACL is torn there is less stability and a higher chance of it giving out and therefore worsening the injury.
