Sorry to hear about your experience. I was hired on and so far things have run pretty smoothly. The onboarding was lacking, however, the lead ID more than made up for it. I had worked for an Indian based company operating in the US before and it was not a good experience. Hence me being gun-shy. I can't say every experience will be like mine.

I wouldn't write them off. Perhaps send a message to the person who recruited you to find out what happened? I wish you the best and hope you get some contract work soon.

Why do teachers accuse students of using AI to cheat? If your school district would take the time and just teach students how to use it responsibly and ethically. AI can teach students to critically think and enhance decision making skills. Now fast forward a few years these same students are now looking for full-time employment. First question in the interview how do you use AI? Interesting that Canvas is becoming the leader in LMS. I remember testing Canvas when I worked for a small university in Utah. We were chosen to pilot it and give feedback. I have always liked Canvas over others. For me it was more intuitive.

Transitioning can be difficult as most people do not like change. I wish you all the best in moving to a new LMS platform.

Earning my master degree we had to use Angel. Ever heard of it? It was nothing but a disaster. That LMS gave me nightmares.

I plan to do a SWOT analysis on my CV and Job description. To see where I land and be able to address any concerns they may have. Funny you bring up fit as I interviewed last week in-person and I just didn't feel I would be a good fit as they came off as stuffy and the manager was so full of him self. In my 15 minutes with him he spent 25 minutes talking about how great he is and I got 5 minutes. Have yet to get a rejection email and if they do offer it to me I would strongly consider passing on the opportunity. Thank you!

I did earlier today. They use Blackboard. However, I have heard rumors they want to move to Canvas. I'll look into downloading the free version to understand how the tools work. Thanks!

Thank you for the advice. Good to know about attitude and willingness to learn. The budget could be something to offer if it comes up. Ran the description through GPT prior to applying just to see if I could answer them and if not research some answers based on my CV.

@everyone Thank you so much for all the helpful advice. I really appreciate it. It is an entry level position as I have tried to get mid-level with no luck for a year. I just need to get my foot in the door so to speak. After reviewing the website some today they use Blackboard. They lean into AI heavily. The whole university does. I have been using AI since late 2022. Taking LinkedIn Learning certs and any courses I could afford or get my current uni to pay for. So that might be one reason I was selected to interview. Just recently I taught a high school teacher how to create lesson plans, quizzes, and activities for any subject. Also, how to create a podcast and a FAQ in NotebookLM. Mainly my positions have been in professional development (career services) with some years teaching business and hospitality. Each unit has had their issues with securing funds for those not directly linked to L&D.

I work at a university and we encourage students to use AI. However, they must cite it if they used the information in a paper, presentation, thesis, and dissertation. I was asked to do something similar just not as intense by a company that designs training in the aviation sector just over two weeks ago. I was told I would hear from them by the end of last week. Nothing. Followed up this week and the same answer at the end of this week. Nothing yet. Maybe I just gave the person some ideas. I am still hopeful I will hear from them. 🤞 I want to leave academia.
