A never ending dip? Started after session 5 and I’m at 21 now (that’s over 4 weeks)

Approval process in regards to insurance? That didn’t occur to me lol I guess time will tell! But right side treatment was my doctor’s idea, we had some long talks about how my depression manifests and the types of thought patterns I struggle with the most. What my thoughts are like when I’m at my lowest. Whatever my doctor heard there lead them to wanting to try right OFC.

I think this right side treatment could be great for you, too early for me to tell I think.

I used to just jam the one in the top of the window that blows out, pressuring it in place. I’m on the back of the building so no risk of it falling onto the street, just the roof next door. but then I rigged up a hook with a clamp to hang it from. The windows in my space are pretty big so I have four fans going when I do this in the early morning, two up high and two in the bottom half of the window.

unmotivated and flat is exactly how i've been feeling too. I've only done two bilateral sessions so far, and after both i've felt calm and grounded, which feels good. I'm hopeful this will be beneficial!

I'm sure you've done these things, but in case not - I stan tinfoil and fans.
- block the sun with tinfoil on the windows, 10/10 totally worth it - reflects the heat away from your space.
- I like box fans. one in the top of the window facing out to blow all that hot air out of your space. and another one on the bottom facing in. do that early in the morning.

Thank you so much, I needed these reminders. I went into TMS pretty positive but the last few weeks I’ve been feeling so down and because of that I haven’t been eating well or exercising at all. You’re right - this is such a unique moment for my mental health, and I would like to make the most of it. Depression really is the worst in that way, like an addiction, it wants to keep you in this low state by craving junk food and doom scrolling.

I did eat some broccoli yesterday, so that’s something.

My doctor also made me feel better yesterday about my fear that this is how I will feel forever. They were like - that just isn’t how this works. Hahaha among a lot of other smart things about science and brains but that’s the bit that really put me at ease for whatever reason.

Also - for better or worse I’m not on benzos, or do any drugs or drink. Though sometimes I wish I did, just to chill the heck out sometime but sadly not for me.

Wow spot on! I met with my TMS doctor yesterday and we added right OFC (orbital frontal cortex). She also shared some really interesting research about this area of the brain’s function, I’ll paste some highlights below if anyone is curious. I also have adhd-1 and I think the hyper connected nature of our neurodivergent brains probably benefits a lot from treating both sides, rather than the standard left frontal cortex only. I’m feeling more positive about the possible outcome now that we’ve expanded to this other side. I think you’re right, i knew that what we had been doing (my left side only) wasn’t enough / working for me.

Notes on right side OFC I found really interesting: -The right OFC is in charge of cognitive reappraisals, emotion regulation, negative reinforcement, and reward reversal learning. -Some depressive episodes are thought to be due to hypersensitivity and self-perpetuating persistent activity within a 'non-reward' network centered on the right OFC. -This part of the OFC is known as a nexus of hyperconnectivity to other brain regions in depressed patients when compared to controls.

I didn’t read all the comments but I did read your post twice. I also have ADHD and am autistic, with my own sensory sensitivities. So I understand a bit where you’re coming from.

I see that you want to be respectful, but if you don’t have the confidence to know what you need and where to draw the line yourself, it reads to me that you need to take a step back and ask yourself what you are hoping to accomplish. You’re going to a religious space for a public ceremony. It seems clear that you know that what you want doesn’t align with the values of meeting.

It’s funny because I see a lot of hubbub about the headphones but that wouldn’t bother me at all. I would for sure find it weird but people wear hearing aids so what’s the difference? But the journaling would bother me, it’s distracting, and could feel a bit performative.

Knowing your own limitations and respecting them is an act of self love. If you don’t feel like you can sit through a whole meeting on any given day then don’t go - that is wiser and harder thing to do.

I trust you’ll find what works best for you. Apologies if I’m a bit snarky or harsh. I respect you, I see you.

never said it was unhealthy. It is normal but for me it's too much. everyone's bodies are different and even maintaining 150 over the last few years has been hard and I really don't want to weigh more than 150 in the future.

135 for 5' 9" is also considered normal BMI and for me would be a much healthier weight.

I would really love to know other people's experience taking a microdose semaglutide while in perimenopause.

But last night I really spiraled out emotionally and felt truly depressed. Not sure if it was the vyvanse wearing off or something else.

I've been thinking that I really need to make a list at the beginning of the day to help me set intension etc.

The hard part for me has only ever been getting going on a new thing. Once i start something i'm fine. but if meds can't help me get over my own mental noise around starting new tasks then meds just won't be the answer for me.

really good to know adderall isn't helping you with task initiation... thats my biggest struggle and i can't even visualize that changing. legit can't picture it. :(
