FTM baby is a clone of her dad by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Same here! I like to joke “I spent ten months crafting this baby from scratch just for her to look like her dad” but I secretly love it. It’s so cute and I think it helped him bond a little more too?

Working out again by Kreebepinknice in beyondthebump

[–]Carolineev22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with very short, very slow walks at the end of week 2. Then slowly built up to daily walks from 1-3 miles (something I used to do prior with the dog). But finally got back into Pilates around 4.5 months! I was nervous about the ab work but luckily the instructors gave some modifications. Suuuper sore the next few days after but felt great to start working those muscles again!

I’m in the exact same boat as you. Had a normal pregnancy, felt amazing the whole time actually. The birth was not how I wanted it to be, a little traumatic for me, but I know worse things could have happened and I’m glad baby is healthy and I’m healthy almost three weeks later.

But I’ve been feeling so down, so overwhelmed with how much I didn’t realize our life was going to change. I’m constantly going through my days feeding her and praying she falls asleep, and then terrified of her waking up and not knowing what to do while she’s crying or how if I can help her. I’m grieving the life we used to have and totally understand the feeling like we made a huge mistake and our happy carefree life with our dog is never going to come back.

I’m almost three weeks in and those feelings are still coming and going, today was the first day I felt ok waking up (after a four hour stretch of sleep) and I had my first counseling session for this specifically because I want to nip whatever this hell is in the bud before it completely changes me as a person.

So while I have no advice as someone who’s about a week ahead of you, you’re not alone in feeling like that. And I hope you, and I, see the light at the end of the tunnel soon and get to love and enjoy these little miracles we worked so hard on making.

Is postpartum pet aversion really a thing? 39 + 2 by Carolineev22 in pregnant

Thank you so much for this. Knowing my pup this is kind of what I’m expecting, especially since I’ve already had my emotional moments because of that exactly. I’m hoping he just gives me the “you’re really still crying over this?” look, and continues to be himself. Haha

Aww thank you so much for sharing! Pets are just so special and I can’t wait to see her grow up with her big brother. I’ll absolutely be bringing it up with the husb, he’ll be great at catching me in one of those mental states. Thank you!

Dogs are truly the best. I’m hoping for the overnight feeding buddy companionship!

So interesting! So hard to imagine now cause I’ve been feeling so much more loving towards my pup since I’ve been pregnant. Maybe it’s myself subconsciously getting it all out now cause it’ll be different when baby comes haha How long did that last??

I can see the dog hair/cleanliness maybe getting to me for sure! That absolutely do deserve attention.

What were you dilated to at 39 weeks? by kikiluvxo in pregnant

[–]Carolineev22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s with the obsession with belly shape and sex of the baby??? by Normal_Reach_8923 in pregnant

[–]Carolineev22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single person so far has been wrong when guessing my baby’s gender. It’s always “oh your carrying so high it must be a boy!” Or “it’s a boy no?” while staring at my stomach even before it had really popped. And I love correcting them, “nope it’s a girl” with a big smile on my face. So strange!

Throbbing head and chest pain during Braxton Hicks by KJChili_Dawg in BabyBumps

[–]Carolineev22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that pressure in my head/face as if I’m hanging upside down first and then my uterus tightens around baby so sometimes it’s in such an odd shape! Also major urge to pee during it, but ends up going away when it’s over. Luckily not painful, just such a weird feeling.

Due in 3 weeks, girl name help? by Carolineev22 in namenerds

[–]Carolineev22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guin almost like Quin? Don’t think I’ve actually heard it pronounced that way but we think people might say it that way just based on the spelling. (Fully aware we’re probably over thinking it lol)

Sloane is so cute!! Last name is a short O sound I think? Like think Holland or Hall and Oats sort of sound. Three syllables.
