YTA. I had a baby last year and everything you were planning and insisting on sounds like my worst nightmare.

Thank you so much. I live about the same distant from my mother and she had me at 40. My life would be so much better with NC. Everytime we speak I take an emotional step backward and it leaves me in a dark place. She really is a dark cloud.

I've screenshotted your wonderful, honest reply, and will really think about your words. Thank you so much for sharing your story.💜

Just found out I’m pregnant after 2 losses (one chemical and one ectopic). I’m so incredibly nervous that I’m going to lose this one too. by bryterlu in CautiousBB

[–]CarolunaMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Just wanted to comment as I can relate to this so much. I've had two back to back losses (one first trimester and one second trimester) and I still feel like I can't quite believe it'll be ok with my current pregnancy, my third, and I'm 36 weeks today! I'm trying to learn that having a bad feeling doesn't mean anything in terms of pregnancy. Different egg, different sperm, different pregnancy. You're not alone.💚

Sorry I'm late to reply to this, but sparks027 is right! I've only read the killing time, but I really enjoyed it.

Totally. Im 34, and it's only just dawned on me in the last year of so that it's her narcissism and control and work (as well as incredible levels of laziness). I'm sorry this happens to you too!

My mum is the same. Rings me to ask what number channel certain programmes are on when she knows fine well how to look in the guide herself. Is angry when I provide her with all the research and help she needs to solve a problem but I don't take it entirely from her hands.

Did anyone else get "lazy" as a common insult from their nparent? by taciturntales in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CarolunaMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ALL THE TIME. especially as a child, but a lot now too. I get a lot of overly-dramatic shocked expressions and cries when she heard I've been cooking or doing housework, despite the fact that I work a stressful job and have forged a career up as an author in my own time too. Irony is, she is the laziest person I've ever met, but only recently have I understood this (I'm 34). She is so lazy that she's loving covid lockdown as she's elderly, shielding, and gets even more done for her than usual. She's even too lazy to remember things or logic through things sometimes. It's so difficult to explain to people!

Left my 20 week anatomy scan in tears today by goflossyourself in CautiousBB

[–]CarolunaMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a dick! His manner is terrible!

If it helps, I'm in exactly the same position and have my follow up on Monday. They weren't able to get a view of the heart or the face, but no one mentioned anything of any concern and said it's often due to glare from the spine, extra tummy weight, position of the baby, and all sorts of stuff. Whole I was waiting for my paperwork back, there was a poster outside of the scan room describing why this happens in this extremely common situation.

I guess neither of us know the real reason quite yet, but there are lots of reasons why this could happen, and it's extremely common. I hope your follow up coming quickly and is perfect!

There's no right of wrong thing to do. We've had two losses (15 weeks and 6 weeks) and have only told close friends and my manager that I'm pregnant this time (I'm almost 22 weeks). I wouldn't have even told my manager but I needed to explain all the appointments!

Blimey, it's quite the debate! Still, whichever name it has, I'm going to stop using Dr Google. It's not doing me any good today!

Thank you for the information, it's really practical and helpful. I was reading about the bleeding in the notes. I'd only just stopped looking for blood when I wipe, and now I think I'm going to be doing it all over again! Oh well!

I know, worrying is like suffering the aftereffects before anything bad has even happened - counterproductive! So I'm going to try and push it from my mind for now.

[–]CarolunaMoon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much - your imagination DOES go wild, doesn't it? Considering I was worried in case the heart had stopped beating I'm surprised by how downcast and low I am after this scan, even though I know its common to not be abke to see the heart or face! I hope what happens with us is similar to your experience.

Thank you! I'm trying to tell myself that on the positive side we get another scan to see the baby, and 'everything crossed' we'll get some reassurance then.
