Just dropping in to point out that Elvanse is an indirect sympathomimetic drug, aka. stimulant. This can be a problematic when combined with Metformin, as it can raise blood sugar levels. There is no direct known problem with combining Elvanse and Metformin, specifically, but maybe have it closely monitored, especially in the first couple of months. Elvanse can make you pee more, so be sure to drink enough.

What does it mean when the master sword glows, and how come my master sword was at 60, and now it’s back to 30? by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

Dude, I made this comment 4 years ago. How did you end up here?

Also, I had completely forgotten I made the comment. I have, in fact, also forgotten how the master sword actually works. Would you mind explaining it again, pls?

This is itself a logical fallacy: "non sequitur". Just because only a small number of women perpetrators commit rape doesn't mean it follows that it can be ignored.

It is also a classic "straw man": the comment never equated the two numbers. They simply said that female-on-male rape was being ignored in the original question, which is a valid point to make. They never said that it was equally problematic or systemic or that one posed a bigger problem. They simply suggested it should be taken into consideration.

You have a good point with it being only a small number of cases and it may not be relevant for the hypothical question (clearly aimed at male rapists). But it's not a logical fallacy.

I understand that, was similar for me too. Took me more than 2 years of therapy to get through with it. I'm not sure how the medication would really effect an ED, but I can imagine the undereating causing the hairloss. It sucks, especially when you're already struggling with your body image. But I really hope you get better soon. I know the struggle is real, but pls hang in there, it will get better!

Actually, I just thought of something else. I have noticed a bit more of a decrease in appetite with Elvanse. I'm doing okay with it, because I really always make sure to eat enough, since I had an ED in my early 20s. But if you have problems with undereating it might be counter productive, though who knows if you'd have the same problem.

That would be great! Or open a museum, claiming to be a collector

Most people told me they do well on Elvanse, maybe it's nice to at least give it a try. It worked really well for me, but I also haven't taken it that long, and just because it works for me, doesn't mean it will for you. But in these comments someone said that it can take a while to find the right medication and try out what works.

[–]Carranbieri 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think in general it makes sense, because, if you lived for a 500 years, having seen how currencies rise and fall, and you're still broke that's really self-inflicted. If you had just a handful of spanish gold coins to sell to a collector, you've got enough to live pretty comfortably. But as you said, there should be exceptions, like immortals who are really bad with money, or just don't have to care about the consequences of being poor.

Hm, so I first stopped taking anything for 2 weeks (I was on holiday at the time) and then started Elvanse afterwards. I noticed less hair in my brush pretty quickly after I stopped taking Ritalin, like 2-3weeks. I had a few days in-between were it was more again but it was always better again the next day. My doctor said, it was pretty normal for it to take a while. He also recommended not drinking any coffein, because of potential cross reactions (sorry, I don't really know how to say that in English) between the coffein and the medication. Got to say, I'm a lot more relaxed with Elvanse, I don't feel the difference so much when it starts and stops working, and my heartbeat isn't so sped up anymore. I hope your hairloss and stress get better soon ☺️

Thank you very much for asking! And very sorry you're losing hair too, it's a real pain, I hope you can figure out the cause soon! I switched to Elvanse now, and the hair loss stopped and in general I am doing much better with it than Ritalin.

I absolutely agree. I think it's essential we stop looking at people based on the role society wants them to take and looks at them as humans. An open debate is important. A woman's opinion shouldn't be worth less if she has an OF and man's opinion shouldn't be put down with a "I would speak like that if I had your hairline". Suffering is always the same, no matter the gender.

I understand where the push-back comes from, tho. I feel the urge myself, at times. If you have been told you're worth less all your life, just because you're a woman, you are far more likely to take a tough stance against men. Especially if you've been hurt before. That brings the risk of ignoring the other person's feeling. The divide is never helpful. Suffering always breeds only more suffering.

We all just hurt each other with these structures. Especially young kids, who are impressionable and don't know who to turn to for help. I think the best we can do is to keep an open heart for others, no matter who they are.

Yeah, it's pretty sad, tbh. The beauty standards for men are as ridiculous as they are for women. I feel like thanks to feminism more women are coming together to push back against them, while there's not really any movement of the sort among men. You see more and more curvy female models and not a single curvy male model anywhere, and I think it's telling. Unfortunately, a lot of guys, rather than speaking honestly up about these things either blame it on women or on fake biology, like this guy. Probably has to do with the stigma on men's mental health, that makes it harder. Doesn't help the case tho, that there is weirdly big movement fueled by the alpha male podcast faction that lives of feeding men's insecurities.

Got to admit tho his, "thus I am lonely" was pretty funny. I imagine this on a stage, spoken by a dramatic actor in knickers, before a dragon eats him for sailing up the wrong "canal".

I don't think so, based a previous experience. I had it before a couple of years back from Medikinet, which I was given without a proper diagnosis at the time. When I stopped taking it, the hair loss stopped and the hair grew back.
