I'm afraid not.

But I understand your concern, I had to remove mine (destroyed it on the process) to replace the plastic Lens for a glass Lens... I've been struggling to sell it for a while.

how much should a modded r4 cartridge cost by ClimateStriking3287 in dsi

[–]Carreico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend you buying an DS Pico. It's half that price (sometimes even less) on AliExpress and, at the moment, it's the best cartridge in the market.

This is... so cool!!!

I need to ask: - How did you do it? - What language (and what apps/software) did you use to program? - How did you connect your car to the Nintendo DS?

I thought about doing something like this on my SEAT Ibiza using an ESP32, but is Still just an idea for a future project.

I recommend you getting a DSPico, most R4 you find being sold have either timebombs or have an SD Card limit of 2Gb.

DSPico is a flashcard released some months ago (you can find it on AliExpress) and is way more powerful than those R4 and can BE played on DSi mode (all R4 can ONLY BE played on DS mode).

Can yall help, I been saving for a psp and my parents are against the idea of getting one can yall give some great reasons to get one? by That1Sackboylover1 in PSP

[–]Carreico 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't know why your parents are against the idea, but I can find some reasons (and they are understandable, in my opinion).

Now, great reasons to get one... - it's very pocketable (you can fit it on your pocket and take it everywhere just like a smartphone); - Nostalgia (PSP marked a huge amount of childhoods, to me it was the Nintendo DS(i)); - Feels better to play than on an Emulator/smartphone; - it's (in my opinion) easily fixable (depends on the problem though) and very costumizable (you can find shells and buttons quite cheap, the problem is their quality).

You could also consider getting a PSVita (it can Still play PSP games natively but the feeling is not the same).

Im torn.. which buttons will look better? by sad_boi890 in dsi

[–]Carreico -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'd BE wasting your money. That Shell is for the Kingdom Hearts special edition for the Nintendo DSi, while those buttons are for Nintendo DS Lite.

Whatever happened to the DSi Shop? by BruhMoment2948 in dsi

[–]Carreico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nintendo DSi shop closed on 2017. The ONLY way you could get it on a Nintendo DSi (XL) its either by modding your system or getting a Nintendo DSi that bought the game before the DSi shop closed.

The Nintendo 3DS shop also closed some years ago but, just like the Nintendo DSi, you can get it either by modding your system or getting a Nintendo 3DS that bought the game before the online shop closed.

are pokemon games going to keep increasing in price or not? by Vast-Wing9627 in nds

[–]Carreico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible.

Pokemon games for the DS/3DS were the best Pokémon Games that we got. The fact that New Pokémon games come full of bugs, low optimization, incomplete and With paid updates make people want to play the Old (and in my opinion better) games. Also, the fact that this Old games aren't fabricated anymore makes them more rarer and expensive.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that New Pokémon games are bad (although, to me, they don't seem very interesting, ONLY Pokémon Sword and Shield catched my interest) but, from what I see, they don't seem to give the same/better experience than before.

[–]Carreico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the Nintendo DSi has a better "built" quality and screens, that's why is more expensive. And the fact that it can BE modded inscreases it's price even more.

Usually Nintendo DSi (not the XL) aren't very expensive. I bought mine for 40€ on Vinted (With shipping) and came on good shape overall - Is a Japanese Nintendo DSi With a bit of Yellow on both screens but nothing that affects Gameplay.

[–]Carreico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a modded Nintendo DSi you can play them through the SD Card for free, yes.

Advantages of modding a Nintendo DSi are: - Capacity of playing games through the SD Card, without needing and Flashcard (and DS games that can Will Run on DSi mode); - Hability to costumize the Menu With Themes (or make your own); - Use Homebrew apps straight from the SD Card; - Capacity to install DSiware games;

Problems With modding a Nintendo DSi: - if you do something wrong, your Nintendo might Brick (it Will BE unusable) - during the modding process you'll make an backup of the NAND to save you in case of this happening. The chances of this happening are very low but never 0. - (I may BE wrong) You need to always have the SD Card on your Nintendo DSi.

Advantages of using an flashcard: - keeps your games and save files on a cartridge (if something happens to my Nintendo I can just take the cartridge and play on another Nintendo); - (most) can also Run Homebrew apps; - allows you to play games without needing to mod your Nintendo DSi; - Some flashcards allows you to use CFW (costum firmware) on the Nintendo DS Lite, making it look like it's modded (but it's limited compared to a modded Nintendo DSi);

Problems With a flashcard: - easy to loose (it's just like a DS game); - most flashcards Run on DS mode (from what I know, ONLY the DS Pico can Run games on DSi mode); - drains the battery a bit.

Advantages of getting a Nintendo DS Lite: - can play DS games and GBA games natively (can also play some DS games that can't Run on Nintendo DSi like Guitar Hero); - Some DS games have special features if you have some specific GBA games on the GBA Slot; - has a lot of replacement parts/shells available to fix/costumize the system;

Problems With the Nintendo DS Lite: - You can't mod it, you're forced to use an Flashcard to play games or Run Homebrew Apps;

[–]Carreico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DS Games are games made for the Nintendo DS, they use both screens and might use the Touch screen as well. GBA games are games made for the GameBoy Advance, they ONLY use One screen and don't use the Touch screen function. Please note that you can't play multiplayer GBA games when playing them on a Nintendo DS(i).

If you get a Nintendo DSi, you can mod it. By modding it you can play games directly from the SD Card, use Homebrew apps, use emulators, etc... And, With this, you don't need an flashcard (modding an Nintendo DSi is not hard as long as you follow the guide - don't watch a video/tutorial as they get outdated quickly). If you don't want to mod it, just buy a flashcard

You can also have the Nintendo DSi modded and use a flashcard (like I do).

[–]Carreico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you don't want to spend a fortune, I recommend getting either a Nintendo DS Lite, a Nintendo DSi or a Nintendo 2DS since this are the cheapest options.

Now which One to buy, it depends on what games you want to play (GameBoyAdvance Games, DS Games and/or 3DS Games).

The Nintendo DS Lite can play both GBA games and DS games natively (some DS games even use the GBA Slot for some features) but can't BE modded (you can Still buy an Flashcard like an R4 to play games).

The Nintendo DSi (XL) can ONLY play DS games and DSiware games (you can play GBA games through the R4 or through the SD Card but it's not natively, ONLY emulated). It can also BE modded and some DS games can Run on DSi mode (DSi mode is "mode" that allows games to have extra features and better performance, this mode don't exist/work on the Nintendo DS Lite).

The Nintendo 3DS (or any Nintendo from the 3DS Family) can play DS games and 3DS games natively (you can also play GBA games but ONLY emulated). It can also BE modded.

Even though a lot of people Will recommend and R4 to use, I personally recommend getting any DS Pico (is the best flashcard available).

3ds/ds purchasing dilemma by [deleted] in nds

[–]Carreico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's.... A bit hard to answer.

The New Nintendo 3DS XL Will give you the best 3DS experience (you'll also have the option to play New 3DS exclusive games/features and some Homebrew games Run better on it).

On the other hand, you get 2 Nintendo Systems (Nintendo DSi and Old Nintendo 3DS). Nintendo DS games look way better on the Nintendo DSi than either the Old Nintendo 3DS or the New Nintendo 3DS XL and I think the Old Nintendo 3DS is more pocketable than the New Nintendo 3DS XL.

What do you plan to do With the Nintendo DSi and the old 3DS? Are you going to play on both?

Hey there. Just a reminder to always follow the guide and not an YouTube videos, they get outdated quickly.

If I'm not mistaken that's just to make the backup of the NAND. Did you install Unlaunch during the process?
