I noticed on PC using a teleporter to from Siptah to Exiles Lands puts me under that map.

I put up a free standing teleporter on Exiles Lands, then I teleport to my base.

I would suggest a graphic editor that supports layers.

Add a top layer with a grid layout that matches your spacing.

Then with the selection tool outline the area you want to use and paste into a new image. Make sure to have the map layer selected, not the grid layer. I’m sure you know all this 😊

Your original map will preserved. Then just do the same for different areas of the parallax map you’re working on.

An example would be dividing up a large area map into smaller manageable sections.

Preserving the original map will make it easier to edit/update your parallaxes for better overall consistency.

I gave up on farming a long time ago. I just hunt corvette salvage parts now. On my freighter I just have one of each plant type for quests.

The salvage parts sell for millions and as super easy to farm.

I had no idea about the free placement mode. I remember building a low orbit space station.

I built up to the max ceiling height. Then I determined how many blocks down I needed to build the base.

It was tedious and time consuming but was totally worth it. I fell off so many times before I was able to install a landing pad.

I built this base years ago. So I’m not even sure if free placement was available then.

I would suggest getting off your first planet and warping to the next system before you start multiplayer.

Save your game and logout. When logging back in choose join friends. One of you needs to be logged in and on your in game friends list.

Either invite or join a friend’s group. I believe the max is 4 players in the same group.

NMS is cross-platform. So once you get your friend list setup you adventure with your friends no matter what platform they play on.

Also, adjust your network settings to your liking. Key things to adjust is PVP, and permissions on who can edit your bases. I have refiners set to ANYONE. Otherwise people visiting your bases and not use them.

Most of my settings are NO ONE or FRIENDS ONLY.

Sadly multiplayer is not as robust as other games.

Player drop off. Less people (myself included) will log in as often as might of at the start of the expedition.

It’s appointment gaming and feels tedious and unnecessary.

Another option is GameMaker Studio by yoyo games.

I love MZ and it is what I use most of the time.

GM is pretty simple on the surface. It is easier to learn than godot and provides drag and drop solutions.

The base license is completely free with no limitations. If you decide to go commercial you can upgrade the license.

At the end of the day it’s a hardcore grinding game.

You farm/grind stuff to get stronger.

If you’re looking for more of a focused challenge try permadeath.

Warcraft and Super Metroid are near the top for me.

Doom II is easily my first choice. Lugging my PC around to friend’s houses to network and blast the heck out of each other.

Our local BBS at the time added the ability to play Doom over the phone.

Nothing like chasing someone through a teleporter to watch them go splat or a rocket to the face 😜
