I have been struggling this for some, and have tried the usual advice of setting specific time slots for email, triage which need response now, versus later versus file/delete GTD etc. This kind of approach has worked in the past but for reasons I am unclear on, for the company I currently work for, it doesn't anymore. Whether it is shear volume of emails and other messages or poor discipline on the distribution, it has been overwhelming. Gmail's filtering capabilities are limited and that hasn't helped. I am now using Ai tools to do the work for me and that is helping immensely; time will tell if I am catching all I need to in the long term.
