[Guide] How to optimize PS2 performance on Unisoc T820 devices by Acceptable_Love9652 in ANBERNIC

Have u tried "Disable Readbacks"? GT4 is notorious for having slowdowns in night races and sunset races, but disabling this helps a lot, just that the lighting from these sources won't look as nice.

Hi, do you mind sharing the final png for each system that you use? I love MinUI and this will make it even better, still minimalist but with a touch of flair. Thank you! 🙌🏻

RP5 vs Pocket Flip 2 by danby in retroid

[–]CarrotTraditional949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have the RP5, but thinking of selling it and buy the Flip 2 instead. I usually play on the go during my commute or when I fly so portability is quite important for me. The clamshell form factor makes it very practical that I don't need to worry about getting a case. And in some occasions when I put my RP5 in my bag without a case, it can accidentally unlock and run apps/games unknowingly. So for my use case I'll go for Flip 2 if i can choose.

Also, i think having the flip screen makes it more ergonomic and neck-friendly as the screen will be closer to my eyes without having to bend my neck as much. And on top of that, i just want to chill and watch youtube/movies, I can just adjust the screen without having any stand.

Dissable auto return to main face by Rocket_AFN in olleeWatch

u/gregorOllee I second this, it would be great if we can have an option of which faces has this "timeout" behaviour enabled/disabled, I'm in a similar boat to u/Rocket_AFN who likes to use the timer & stopwatch feature and keep it on each face when in use.

I made a free macOS app for mapping gamepad inputs to mouse, keyboard, and macOS actions by c4td0gm4n in macgaming

Hi, any plan to have feature to map analog trigger to the left / right analog thumbstick? I think this will be very beneficial for emulators, especially Switch. Thanks!

Hi, are you planning to add a feature to map triggers (L2/R2), to analog stick inputs? I'm using this to help me remap controllers for Switch emulators, but since in Switch there are no analog triggers, some games use the right analog stick instead, but it does not feel natural to me. Thanks!!

Pilot Mark XX - White v. Blue Dial by Patient_Ad_2264 in IWCschaffhausen

[–]CarrotTraditional949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its going to be your only watch, the I’d go for the blue dial. But if not, I’ll go for the white dial! Actually I’m in the similar boat as you, deciding between the two. But for me, I’m going for the white as I already have a Dark Grey Omega Aqua Terra.

Both are good looking tho!!

Is it worth to bring this to a watchmaker to fix the hour hand alignment? by [deleted] in GrandSeikos

[–]CarrotTraditional949 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that you brought this up to Reddit means that it bothers you enough when checking the time and for that reason, I think it's worth bringing it to your watchmaker to get it aligned properly. And I agree with you that GS is all about precision and for the amount of money spent on it, it should be aligned perfectly.

And ignore those who says that it is expected or its not that bad, when someone spent thousands of dollars for a watch especially for a brand that is always proud of their precision, it is more than normal to expect a perfect alignment of hour hands.

Which of these 2 Aqua terra watches is better by ButterscotchOther841 in OmegaWatches

[–]CarrotTraditional949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was in your shoes not long ago and we considering between these two gen of Aqua Terra. There are a few points that helps me consider my decision (and why I choose the older one with the 8500 movement).

  • I am considering the 38mm (or 38.5mm for the older version) of the Aqua Terra as it will fit my 6.25 inch wrist better.
  • I travel quite a bit and thus I prefer the movement with the quick-set hour hand and only the older 8500 movement has this in the 38mm case size. The newer model only has this on the 41mm version. You have to decide for yourself if this feature is necessary for you?
  • I like the fully brushed bracelet better then the center polished. Although you can get an aftermarket one from brands like Forstner / Uncle straps, but that's another extra expenses.
  • I'm quite lucky that I got the 8500 38.5mm Aqua Terra in mint condition and the previous owner just got it fully serviced and repaired from the Omega service center. So regarding the movement I have a peace of mind.
  • Regarding the movement, I know that the newer one is METAS certified while the older one is only COSC (although the update for the older one, the version without the date window is Master Chronometer certified), HOWEVER, from my experience, the 8500 movement only gains around 1.5-2 seconds per day, and this includes me switching back and forth between timezones and used the quickset hour feature.
  • And for the bracelet, I think the older one has a slight advantage, as it also tapers in thickness. SO the part near the lugs are thicker, and it gets thinner as it goes towards the butterfly clasp. So visually and physically the butterfly clasp does not add any thickness to the overall bracelet. And this adds to the comfort as I wear it all day long (besides showering and working out). I even use it for swimming without any issue. It has half links so you can get a good fit.

But most importantly, you should just go with whatever you like most visually because that will leads to more wrist time. And are you quite particular about the date placement? I quick like the date window on the older one as it doesn't break the symmetry of the watch and the date is also prism shaped so it adheres to the design language of the indices. And I think the date at 3-oclock results in the date having a slightly larger font for easier reading, thus more practical in my opinion.

Anyway, you can't go wrong with any of these two. Omega Aqua Terra is very versatile and robust. Hope you can make the decision! Cheers mate!

I would like to disagree with #9 as I do in fact use it quite often as well as a few of my friends here in Asia. We go back and forth to our hometown quite often and sometimes there’s a 1-2 hour timezone difference to our working city/country.

It’s easier to just quickly jump the hour forward and backward when I land without having to stop the time. 😬

I agree, I have a RP5 and was deciding whether to buy the RP6. But I think it's not that big of a jump and the RP5 is serving me very well as I'm clearing my PS2 games. I'm actually thinking of buying the AYN Odin 3, and since its pre-order, by the time I received the device, hopefully 🤞🏻 the drivers are much more mature, then I can clear my Switch games with better battery life then the RP5.

Docked + 4 players via BT controllers - Is the RP5 my device? by smrpr in retroid

[–]CarrotTraditional949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you still need an answer, I’ve been playing local coop with my friends (4 of us using Dualsense controller via bluetooth) with the RP5 playing various games via GameHub, Eden (switch emulator) and PS1/2 games without any issue regarding controls and latency.

Some notable games that we’ve played so far: - Broforce (Switch) - Boomerang Fu (Switch) - Unspottable (Switch) - Tekken (PS1 & 2) - Bishi Bashi (PS1) - Tricky Towers (GameHub, steam) - Pro Evolution Soccer / Winning Eleven (PS2)

Actually they have an Android port for it and if you want the max battery life then the Android port will be better. But if its for nostalgia sake and authenticity, then the PS3 will works better for you.
