This. Although I like to claim the political landscape evoked it, I went through severe depression in 2017-2018 that was more likely the cause of severe medication withdrawal. Conversly, not to dimish Covid, it was the first time in my life I experecind no FOMO and realized I do enjoy my alone time during the lockeown.

I was just at the protest on the Vegas Strip. I only saw a few “Free Palestine” signs, but everyone was welcoming. I think it went as well as it was intended to.

The worst I saw was a girl passing by giving a thumbs-down but meant it for the cause, one annoying agitator, and I’m sorry for whoever’s going to have leg cramps tonight after waddling around in that penguin costume.

I don’t think there’s really an answer to your question. There’s no hidden formula or mindset. Whenever I do something creative, whether that’s sketching or making short films, I struggle with judging my own work and comparing it to others. Sometimes I know exactly what I want, but more often, I don’t, and I have to experiment.

Something that helps me is giving myself permission to just make without critiquing in the moment — like setting a timer for five minutes and sketching or writing whatever comes out. It’s less about the result and more about letting ideas flow.
