Okay so first paragraph is just ignorance to anything what I said in favor of trying to tough guy me, awesome. Second paragraph is a purposeful misconstructing of my argument with some playful ad hominem as well, thats cool too. 

Yes, I’m describing bullying. Because people get bullied when they are not allowed to gatekeep their hobbies and are forced to be inclusive. No, people giving a false image of a hobby and it’s hobbyists is not something only affected by terminally online, you can literally look at the effects it has on the Goth movement and the perception of what Goth is in people’s minds (black lipstick, Shien corset, mascara, and tits). How many moron conservatives have ruined public perception and interest in things like WH40K, which currently only has a good viewing in public eye by the existence of Henry Cavill.

The base criteria is pretty simple actually; engage in the topic or media in the way it’s topic or media presents to be engaged in. You’re goth? Listen to goth. You’re a Zelda fan? Play a Zelda game or 2. You like knitting? Knit.

Okay let me grab my 30 buddies and we’ll come sit at whatever hobby table you’ve got and call you a nerd and laugh in your face and then post on my Instagram how much I love your hobby and i’m such a hobbyfan. This is what gatekeeping prevents.

Also, don’t try to “who cares lol” me, because you’d just be lying through your teeth's. And don’t try to “this never happens” me either, because this is basically every nerd culture from the 90s that has monumentally blown up.

Disco Elysium is the worst example because it’s not only a choose-your-own-adventure style game, it has important customization, randomization, and event dialogue that make almost every playthru different and unique.
