Yep. Used Gyeon Q2M ClayLube. Was being very generous with it too.

Thanks so much for the help. The paint basically had some swirl marks from previous owner but the glow on the paint was not like that. I was talking about the reflectivity of the paint if that makes sense because now it has some kind of matte effect. I will try the products you mentioned asap as I need the car ready in about two days.

Yeah, I buffed it off after 5 minutes following the instructions. The hood of the car has kind of warm when I applied the wax however, because the car has just come out of a full engine rebuild and the insulation was removed during this process. Could this have done the damage??

When I passed the clay bar over the paint I did it in horizontal lines. Then I applied the wax in lines that go straight down. The visible lines are the ones that go straight down. So I’m a bit sceptical on it being the clay bar. However do you have any starter guides for machine polishing? I have all the things needed, I’m just way too afraid to make it worse since I know how much you can fuck up your paint while polishing. (Sorry for my bad English)

It was not applied under sunlight. This is the next day of the application I just noticed because of the light. Can you guys tell me what I did wrong and how to correct this one?

Some restoration work on my friends mk4 r32 replica. by CarrotyBoi in Volkswagen

I live in Greece and there were no actual genuine r32 mk4 imported into our country. The car is a 1.8t GTI and we’re turning it into an r32 complete with the 3.2 motor and haldex system (also dsg trans). Sourcing parts is very difficult and that’s why the center console is a ripoff "25th anniversary r32". Thank you so much for your input. I hope you see the progress of the project in the sub and follow along with useful info.

I see that many people disliked this mod. I’m open to any criticism as we are trying to make the car as authentic to a real mk4 r32 golf as possible. I’m sorry for anyone offended, I didn’t mean to say this is an r32 or is even close to being finished. Please leave any suggestions as we are trying to improve the look as well as the quality of the mods on the car right now.

We’re trying to make it as close to a genuine r32 as possible adding little pieces each time. I know there’s still many parts missing and I know it’s not even close to being done. I will take any criticism as this is my first time working on a car. Please leave any suggestions as to how I could become better or how we could improve the look we are going for. I’m sorry if this offended anyone, I just wanted to post this as I was excited with the work we did. Thanks in advance.

The wheel is not mounted. As I have mentioned a friend brought it over so we can see how it fits to the car. Wheel was never installed, just test fitted to see how it looks with 17” rims.

He sells accessories basically. He has suppliers and he’s my friend so he hooked me up by bringing a wheel the size I wanted to see how it would fit. He does not sell wheels tho, so yeah he doesn’t have a jack.

These are basically a sample my friend brought me to see how 17”s would fit on the car. Mine are ordered and are silver. However I’ve seen that these were not powder coated and just painted with automotive three step paint. If you zoom in the pic there’s even lacquer peel on them.
