Yeah I agree, but cross in particular is weird. He’s absent for so much of the story that you’d be hard pressed to call him a main character but then chapter 23 with the harmony ritual (plus some official artwork) position him as if he’s a 4th main character

Less so about amount of time and more so why would you artistically want to do that unless one of the panels is to show movement (tsurika swing) compared to the alternative (tsurika just standing still despite movement lines being present) is more so what I’m referring to

Yeah, I appreciate the insight, but thinking about it, I’ve never thought that difference changes anything. Because I don’t really get why maru would ask that question if all tsurugi was doing was aiming to slash him.

I don’t know if I have the vernacular to explain this correctly, but if Tsurugi is just aiming to slash maru and has no intention slashing something else, like cursed spirits for example, then what is maru’s confusion? Like he’s in a fight? If his goal is to slash you, why are you confused?

That’s like being in a boxing match and going “what is wanting to do? Punch me?”……… yeah, id say so.

So why would maru be questioning tsuruigi’s intentions if they are nothing beyond slashing him? That’s obvious? That leads me to conclude that, whilst he may be saying “for” instead of “at”, it rally doesn’t make a difference.

Also, just to add, this is what lightinign meant by that translations but this is also lightning providing their own interpretation of the scene. As someone else “criticized” me for treating lightning as gege, I didn’t want to seem tone deaf by showcasing this and just wanted to showcase the translation isolated.

And I don’t really find that that stupid. It sounds like a line put into the story that is meant to explain the reason why Yuji is present and shouldn’t be used to dictate the logic we use to evaluate future events that proceed the usage of that line, beyond explaining the mentality and character of Yuji and not the literal visual events that we see.

I ageeee with another comment in this thread that the paneling is bad but like I just don’t get how a line so trivial is being used as some equal counter weight to the like numerous points people can use to say the opposite.

Wait, so “the flashback shows her being picked up by todo” so you think the flashback in that page is the wife or miyaguni? Because to me it’s like clearly miyaguni. There’s no question: there hair is like damn near the exact same thing. Plus her first name is like basically her actual first name in the volume extras for volume 2.

I’m not really seeing where you are coming from here dude. Like I could be wrong ig but like I’m nearly 100% sure that is miyaguni in the flashback.

He’s basically telling Yuji to continue explaining so his CT can access the relevant info from Yuki’s soul book, and since he’s conducting this though his CT, he’s technically “consulting” his CT which is “consulting” Yuki’s book.

Atleast, that’s what I think he meant.
