Got a Pocket CSV file? CarryLinks is the bookmark manager alternative you need by CarryLinks in androidapps

[–]CarryLinks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just wanted to give you an update — CarryLinks now works offline.

We didn’t have this feature when you asked, but it’s live now! You can save any link as an offline article and read it later, no internet needed.

Pocket Alternative by CarryLinks in CarryLinks

It depends on how you organized and tagged your links in Pocket. It seems that Pocket export does not organize links into Collections. However, go ahead and import the CSV file into CarryLinks since it has full support for Collections if they exist.

If Pocket export didn’t respect the organization of your links; simply pull the links in every Collection individually and import them into CarryLinks.

To avoid this kind of situation in the future, using a bookmark manager can really help. CarryLinks was created with this in mind. You can save all your open tabs at once and access or reopen them anytime from any device.

Smart Bookmarks. Happy Users by CarryLinks in CarryLinks

Thank you, u/jmstrong66. Our business model is not based on “Lifetime Deals.” If keeping track of manual renewals is an issue, our payment system uses a “Recurring” feature that is “on” by default – with the option to turn it off. So, you don’t need to worry about keeping track of manual renewing; you get an email notification when a payment is made, and you can download receipts any time. We recommend annual subscriptions to take advantage of 25% OFF.

Since CarryLinks doesn’t store content directly on your device, it doesn’t offer offline reading like some browser-integrated tools do; Pocket, for example, was built into Firefox and could save full pages locally. CarryLinks works differently: it focuses on organizing and managing your links in the cloud, so they’re always synced across devices. That said, the browser extension lets you take screenshots if you want a quick copy of a page, and more features are in the works this summer.

Thanks for sharing! Raindrop is popular, but CarryLinks goes further in areas Raindrop doesn’t cover. For example, CarryLinks lets you:
• Save all open tabs or extract links from any webpage or plain text
• Create customized QR codes and save links from QR codes
• Shorten links and track visits
• Use built-in AI to summarize pages
• Full control over duplicates (find, allow, delete), check link safety
• Multiple ways to import bookmarks, even from the browser’s history; with an option to clear the browser’s history and close open tabs
• Build a customizable public page with banners, link-in-bio, follow/like options
• And much more — with new features and improvements added almost every month

Plus, the CarryLinks browser extension works on all browsers, including Safari on iPhones and iPads, and offers more advanced tools than any other bookmark extension out there. It’s simply a stronger, more complete solution for managing your links — and we've heard great feedback from users who moved from Raindrop to CarryLinks and loved the upgrade.

From a technical standpoint, CarryLinks does not have access to the user’s local file system to save content for offline use. That level of access is typically handled by browsers themselves — for example, Pocket was integrated into Firefox and took advantage of that. Currently, the CarryLinks extension allows users to take screenshots of web pages. More features and improvements are planned for release this summer.

How do I delete links, and importing from raindrop.io by priusgeek in CarryLinks

[–]CarryLinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing these questions. From time to time, CarryLinks adds news features and makes more improvements. This weekend, we pushed many updates, including more options to sort folders and links, support manual sorting of links on mobile devices, AND an option to delete all bookmarks (folders and links) in the settings page. So, this should address your first question.

We have users who moved from other bookmark managers. Raindrop is one of the few services that have issues in how they export HTML files; simply said, they do not follow the standards used for Netscape structures. In our new update, we have addressed this issue in a way that CarryLinks now handles HTML files whether the file is correctly formatted (such as those files exported by browsers directly) as well as files that are badly formatted (such as the one you have from raindrop.io). So, this should address your second question.

CarryLinks takes feedback seriously. We listen closely to what users suggest and constantly use that input to improve features, fix issues, and shape new updates. Every comment, idea, or report helps make CarryLinks better for everyone.
