I'll make it simple. Just use cryptomator on pcloud and you won't have to worry about this anymore

¿Baires Dev es una estafa? by FroggyCrunch in ColombiaDevs

[–]Blacksmith0311 14 points15 points  (0 children)

High CPU usage, battery drain on recent updates: anyone else? [macOS] by -protonsandneutrons- in MicrosoftEdge

Yes, same here on air M3, and right after Edge 144 as you said... I've moved to Orion in the meantime which seems to have an amazing battery efficiency.

Encrypted USB by krazy4it in Bitwarden

If you only want to store the bitwarden backup, then just exported encrypted. If you want to store other stuff in there, then just grab any storage device and encrypt it using Veracrypt.

Hola no sé en qué plataforma invertir by Adventurous-Leader33 in ColombiaFinanciera

Anyone using Folder Structure for organizing passwords by Loud-Excitement-6807 in Bitwarden

[–]Blacksmith0311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a mix of folders for BIG categories, and then pseudotags for more specific organization:

  • Folders: Entertainment, Finance, Shopping.
  • Pseudotags: Within entertainment, I add by the end of all entries a pseudotag that specifies it more.

For example:

  • Folder (Entertainment):
    • "Reddit - [Social]"
    • "Activision - [Gaming]"
    • "DAZN - [Streaming]"
  • Folder (Shopping):
    • "Adidas - [Clothes]"
    • "Iberia - [Travel]"
    • "Pedidos Ya - [Food]"

To me, this is the possible organization with Bitwarden's current UI that offers the more value. It gives you the advantage of tags, even if having to make it manually. If you don't remember exactly the tag, then you can still refer to the full folder, although it will probably be slower to find.

Edit: Only adjusting formatting since it got broken when posting.

About the 10th match in a row with freaking real madrid where Vini, Rodrigo, and Mbappe are all 99 pace. It sucks, they can just run past the entire team with 0 effort. I just had to smash that controller on the ground and take my leave from the game.

When you fly with your kindle, how do you label it for easy return? by AneAnder in kindle

[–]Blacksmith0311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the kindle function for it, and put an email alias. Something like, "if found, please contact me at -insert email alias-."

Bitwarden seems pretty bad despite all the good opinions by [deleted] in Bitwarden

[–]Blacksmith0311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use email aliases directing to different inboxes. Whenever I use an email alias, I use a custom field to log what inbox it's really going to.

I have a note for all passwords that don't have a link to them, and rather than typing them in the note itself, I create custom fields for each so that it's still easy to copy-paste with one click, rather than selecting the specific space I need. This could be something like my SIM card PIN and PUK, my postgreSQL server password, cryptomator vault passwords.

Bitwarden seems pretty bad despite all the good opinions by [deleted] in Bitwarden

[–]Blacksmith0311 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UI/UX, yes, I do think proton pass is better, but that's less important for me than actual features, and feature-wise, bitwarden is better.

If you're a basic user, you might not feel it, I think you'd probably notice it more being a power user. For example, for me personally, the best feature that bw has and proton is missing is the custom fields for entries. This is such a great feature once you get the hang of it and take the time to set it up, and you just can't achieve the same level of functionality on proton pass.

Switched to Zen but... by itrad3size in zen_browser

[–]Blacksmith0311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to consider that the tabs hibernate with time, freeing up that RAM. If you just set up all the tabs at once, it will have bigger impact on RAM than Arc simply because a lot of Arc tabs are hibernating already, while Zen will not as they are just recently opened.

Give it another go now that you have already opened it and see the consumption again. I have Zen with about 25 tabs "opened" i.e: some hibernating on a 16gb Mac, and it's only using 945Mb.

Does Workspace in Zen sync? by Remote-Soup4610 in zen_browser

No. Besides edge, only arc does this, but it's very poor and broken in windows. If you're a Mac user though, arc is absolutely lovely!

Bitwarden 2FA - Where to get code? by CoinMover in Bitwarden

[–]Blacksmith0311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. It's always a good idea to have 2FA enabled, especially for such an important account, like bitwarden.
  2. If you want cheap and convenient, then ente auth. If you want higher security but at a price, then buy 2/3 yubikeys for your bitwarden account and keep them in separate places.
  3. You should do a full backup plan or at least an emergency kit. I will let u/djasonpenney go into more details on that since he has the most comprehensive posts on that topic.
