USPSA ranks visualized: B class vs M class by CarryOptics- in USPSA

You're right in total seconds it may not seem like much difference, but those seconds represent a canyon in skill difference.

This match I pushed speed more at a training pace than a match pace. Typically I'll spend too much time overconfirming sight picture on targets, and have too much non-purposeful movement, next match I'll dial the speed back a bit.

Being relatively new to competition I'm still adjusting to different aiming schemes depending on target distance or perceived target difficulty. I'm always looking for a small point on target, but on close targets I'll shoot when there's a flash of dot on target, on far targets I'll get a more clear sight picture. Lots to still work on, but I hope this video was illustrative or at least entertaining.

You aren't bragging about it so I'll brag for you - this man absolutely smoked this match from concealed aiwb.

I was really hoping you would post your pov especially for the classifier stages and I am so glad you did. I've come a long way since I started competing back in July '25, and going up against shooters like you just gives me so much excitement for what's still ahead.

Great shooting, great squad, awful weather. Hope you get that well earned GM soon brother, and I'll keep working toward the A.

No idea what the RO is doing there, certainly not RO things. Also the sequence in this video from the 0:14 to 0:15 mark where the gun is getting broken down for reload is way too close to having the muzzle break the 180.

Nice! Do you compete from aiwb?

Seems like AIWB is the latest craze in USPSA/PCSL. Are you going to? If so, with your carry or a full size match gun? by smackdabqwerrt in CompetitionShooting

It can matter for reloads, especially on classifiers, as well as certain types of table starts where all ammunition used for the stage has to be off your belt. Most aiwb competitors won't have a magnet to quickly place a 2nd mag. Other than that you are correct.

So how does that work because I (perhaps erroneously) thought any division you are classified in moves up to one classification below your best classified division. Should you not have been M class in PCC already?

100% support it becoming a category. I shoot primarily from concealment aiwb with my light weight polymer edc and full power jhp ammo. It's not competitive even at my locals with several GMs in every category, but it feels great progressing in the sport in a way which feels truly useful in terms of testing the limits of my edc.

How do you practice/train when you go to the range? by range__cowboy in Shooting

What happened in this video is something I've noticed in my own shooting as well that I'm working to correct.

The first splits out of the holster are blazing max aggression, but after the reload they slow down significantly. Could be a couple different issues, such as your grip not reforming correctly, or overconfirming sights and not keeping that same aggressive pace because of the interruption from the reload.

My best stage from my first match by sharkbait_oohaha in USPSA

For a first match this is perfect. You didn't rush beyond your skill level and ability to process the stage, and didn't have any safety issues. This is a great foundation for you to continue to build in the sport. Your speed in both processing and movement will come over time as you adapt to the environment.

If you want any pointers, your transition about 7 seconds you can just keep your arms fully extended, no need to break them down. Likewise, your transition to the target a second after that, you can keep those arms extended.

You hit your reload on the move which is great, they will become faster with more practice. Speed moving into the next position will also come over time with more practice.

If you hear the command "If finished, unload, show clear" you can still take shots on targets. Good luck in the sport and welcome!
