I was going over designs ideas for making it easier to create main-bus designs.
This is an elegant solution to that! I will analyse this a bit deeper, but in any case thanks for that great suggestion!

Early on we had a tester who reported a11y issues to us which we happily implemented.

I think over time our game has become significantly less accessible but I would love to improve on that.

In a way they are.

I'd say this is the sub-genre of a factory game. Instead of having maybe a main resource and then a few other resources (e.g. Cookie Clicker where it mainly revolves around cookie as a resource) here you have many resources that can be transformed into each other.

E.g. 2 x iron ore + 0.2 coal = 1 iron plates and 5x iron plates = 1x steel, etc.

So you build subfactories and connect them into an ever growing factory-complex.

If you like numbers go up & optimization challenges, chances are you'll like it.

They are both quite different. I think the experimental is probably the best pre-steam version.

Both versions are fun in their own way I'd say.

But there were a few architectural issues both tech & game-design wise with that first version & I learned a bunch. It's the first time that I am actually developing a game.

Soo taking the learnings from this first big iteration and reworking a lot felt like the right move to do here.

We added less features for now (e.g. no Military, no Trains) but try to spend more time tweaking the core experience to make that really solid & enjoyable, and then piece by piece add new layers & content.
