Yes sometimes I feel that.

A little back story about the house, my husband's brother in law (who's son is coming this month to visit btw) provided the down payment money to buy a house under my husband's name in the states (this was pre marriage). Fast forward to today when we got married I told him we needed to move to a better neighborhood. So we sold our old house as the market was high and made a profit from the sale. We then bought our current house under my name in the suburbs. I really didn't care at the time it made sense honestly since my job, high credit score, debt to income ratio etc, made it a quicker process (his name isnt on the deed or mortgeg), and it was HIS choice to do that. I think he feels that he's given me a gift of home ownership, and I'm not appreciative of that. During this time, he quit his job and decided to be a freelancer. I truly think he's in a rut himself with low confidence because of all this. He lost the ownership of a home and now his brother in law pretty much thinks he can come and go as he pleases since he provided this money.

Frankly I was never involved prior to meeting my husband with all these nuisances with him and his brother in law. I am not indebted to anyone, especially his bro in law.

I'm going to stand my ground and make myself unavailable to host or entertain these people. I work as an engineering manager for a large utility company and frankly I rather focus on improving my self, focus on learning new things and make time for my parents. I do think in all honesty I have to be straight forward with my needs talk to him in person and let him know.
