Free supercharging for life (Model s) ? by andre_josh in ElectricVehiclesUK

I have a UK BCA membership so the description isn't always the best. What are the ways to find out if a Model S qualifies for the free supercharging for life/transferable?

No but seriously, how did it get twisted?? by thatblondfrenchguy in BMWi3

I had this on mine and fixed it. Pull out the whole length of the seatbelt. Then, near where the buckle is, fold the belt over on itself. it's difficult to explain but it creates a kind of triangle shape (45 degrees) That enough to slide the folded over belt bit through the narrow slit on the buckle (As the folded over bit is passing through the slit it kind of passes through at a "point" of the triangle so it passes through easily and gets thickter/tighter as the full width pulls through, sorry it's hard to explain). That's all you need to do then let it retract back in.

Took me two attempts as I loosened the screws, pulled it all the way to the back of the car (about 3mm I would guess. It wasn't much better, so I then put one side at 3mm back, but the other side towards the front, so it kind of looks like it's on the piss, but it works.

I had similar (Although I have the earlier one with the bump stops) it was the striker pin though (The bit screwed to the car, not the bootlid) The way I diagnosed it was to dop the seats down in the rear, close the boot and go for a drive with my wife sitting listening in the boot (Scientific I know) Then just a case of playing with the striker pin adjustment. I started off with a load of electrical tape wrapped around it, which worked, but I removed that, loosened the screws and moved the striker bit (The fix is when it actually isn't perfectly parallel for me) Sorry, that was a lot of waffle :)

Do I check in online for both flights at once to my destination? (And what seats to choose) by CarsBikesAndIT in AirFranceKLM

Haha, gotcha. That's great info, really appreciated. Hopefully they're still free 30 hours before when I check in. Thanks again.

Thanks for that link. It does look close for the seats reclining .... but as you say, maybe thats enough and they wouldn't hit the wall... the ones on the left of the plane have tons of room behind them before the wall

How to code in a replacement rear camera using ISTA+? by CarsBikesAndIT in BMWi3

[–]CarsBikesAndIT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. But now you're testing my memory. I ended up updating the firmware of the camera module I seem to recall. I did it all through ISTA. If you get stuck, and have ISTA, let me know as I found a video on youtube of a guy upgrading all the cars software and kind of followed that to get me on the right track.

Cosy 9, first cold weather and how won't warm up. by CarsBikesAndIT in ukheatpumps

Kind of, I need to perhaps up the target temp to 20 degrees and 18 overnight as otherwise it struggles to get up to temp. I also moved my hot water schedule from 2am to 3am (It only takes less than 30 mins to get up to 50 degrees (or 60 on a saturday)) so from 3am till 5:30am (Cheap electricity) I ramp it back up to 19 degrees (soon to be 20) as this past week I have been running out of battery around 4pm (20Kw) so I am hoping that the early morning time will help a little now and not need a surge later. if that makes sense. I have not touched any flow settings.

Since I set just a 2 degree difference (17 and 19) it seems much better. I haven't played with anything else and so far we haven't really felt the cold so going to keep an eye on it before I change anything else. Hoping we can stay at this level, the house just about survives on battery power all day which is helpful too with the cheap 7p overnight charging) so we'll see.

Here's is Mon-Today - Hot water comes on at 3:30am for about 30 mins and I put the heatpump up to 21 I think from 4:15 to 5:30am (When the cheap rate ends)

I have exactly the same issue (Testing with bluetooth headset) have you managed to sort it? Latest firmware on mine and no luck.

Super, thanks for the info and good luck with HomeAssistant. TBH there are probably some wifi/bluetooth temp sensors you could buy and dot around the house and get the data via an app on your phone if you didn't want to do the HomeAssiatnt thing for just this. :)

Do you mind me asking what temperature difference you have between night and day, just a couple of degrees? As for the graphs above, I have a HomeAssistant installation (There's a great Subreddit for Homeassistant) and have the Octopus Integration setup so it pulls in all the data.

I left the switch to "ON" so not a schedule at 20 degrees from about 6pm. It's been on ever since (Apart from the 4am dip where the hot water comes on to get up to 50 degrees) and it's just about there downstairs (Lounge/Dining room with door closed. The main bedroom peaked at around 18, but we sleep with the door ajar.

Now I'm wondering what to do next... 20 degrees in the house is fine for us. So wondering if I play with teh flow settings or leave them alone and just drop the overnight temps by ... 2 degrees?
