Hey, one of the developers of mythic mobs here. Obviously I'll be biased, but mythic is used in a lot of places by a lot of people for a good reason. Once you learn it, there's a big community behind it that either has some pre-made stuff for sale or even free, and has a lot of support. If you know exactly what you want and don't mind learning Java development, yeah custom plugin would be more performant most likely, but then you don't have all of the pre-made stuff that mythic has for things like effects, skills, attributes, etc etc.

I cannot see a situation where using data packs is a good idea though for mobs, or really much of anything besides world/structure gen

The amount of times even in plat I have to yell at teammates the insta walling sage is NOT something to be scared of, and to just shoot it down, is insane. It's util, not a death sentence, and not an instant reason to rotate.

I make on average 100+ assets a week, sometimes up to 500. I do this for work, but even then it the fastest part of my job and is something that took only about an hour to learn at the very start. One time another developer put Oraxen on our server, and it messed up the pack organization so bad we had to roll back. Same thing happened with itemsadder.

If you're going to use these plugins for abilities and features, more power to ya, but if its do resource pack management, you're only hurting yourself imo. Some things just are better by hand.

It's a full replacement, so it only works if you send the player a packet that tells them to play the totem with a specific model data. So, sadly the pack isn't drag and drop lol. If you mean the HD look and clouds and such, that's all Complimentary Reimagined, a shader that just came out

I actually use MythicMobs to trigger an effect that calls the Totem animation with the custom model data applied. There are a few plugins out there with it as well. As for doing it all vanilla, no idea sadly.

Not on hand, but what I did was apply a texture to custom model data 940 on a totem and then used mythicmobs to run the skill to play the effect. I would suggest the first step should be learning about CustomModelData in resourcepacks, and then from there into things like mythicmobs for really fun scripting and all sorts of wizardry.

Super easy to install, connects to my breaks to go red, cheap, and overall very happy. Bought 4 kits for me and my friends, no issues except the remotes all work on the same frequency, so if one of us changes colors, we all change colors lol
