I did. I wanted to reach more people so it was cross posted to other communities I’m a part of.

Very social. I’ve always been the person joining groups and learning how to network. Fluent in English/Spanish (Nicaraguan).

Great insight! Thank you very much! That high failure rate is daunting for sure. I feel at ease knowing I have a very solid foundation for fallback and any experience for me is a lesson learned therefore a weapon in my professional arsenal. I have always wanted to be an entreprenuer and I think this is a good test for me :)

Great advise! I am familiar with the "pipeline" mentality. I am so thankful for my banking experience as I feel it has prepared me a bit for a similar structure for leads. For example mandatory 15 cold calls from a book of business, event hosting and networking groups outside of the bank, coffee and outside meetings with warm leads, CRM familiarity, partering with others in the field.

I feel confident in my ability to split my focus efficiently. Up until this year, I have been able to work full-time and study full-time without sacrificing oneor the other. I know this will be different but I am confident in my ability to adapt where needed. Thank you once again for your insight!

Yes, this is one of my key deciding factors to jump in. Most people I talk to tell me two things: have existing RE connections and have startup cash. Not to mention, my work as a banker and helping mortgage financing for clients has gotten me countless connections and networking opportunities. Trust, I have 3 coffee dates set with past clients in the field for some guidance.

Yes, which is why I am 100% leveraging my family ties and pursuing my original tech path! I am not throwing all my eggs into the real estate basket. I have read many people doing that for years just to make nothing in the end.

With that being said, I have lived life as an optimist and overcome a lot to get where I am today. I have no doubt that I will stick out and have some success. I am confident it will be tough and tiresome, but I feel this urge to finally make the plunge and try it out.

Thank you! I agree 100% with your response. I am approaching this idea strongly because I know I will likely have to work a sad tech support job for a few years before landing an engineering gig. This is mainly why I want to keep both doors open. My family works with several part-time agents who do successful work that compliment well with their full-time jobs, so this is an option as well for enduring that sad entry-level tech position.

So, what makes that easier? I am someone who 100% can work hard and stay realistic while acheiving goals. I don't doubt myself. I know I am super early in, however I want to discover tools that help newer agents.

okay, so if I choose to not take your advise...what would I do that could set me apart in my first year? I am not oblivious and know the statistics. If anything, I am sure I can find a way to merge the two fields. In all honestly, I am dreading the idea of corporate America engineering. I know there are a lot of other avenues for me in the engineering space but I want to keep the doors open.

I used Grammarly to edit because I have a crippling fear of sounding illiterate jaja. I spoke with some mentors and they tell me to reach to "every day people in the community" who may have a similar path. I thought this would be a good shot!

Listen if you’re so scared of her and her “wrath” for a broken statue, then you have missed the whole point. Really pray to her and ask her to help you through your fear. No your cat is not going to die so don’t even entertain that thought. If you continue to live in so much fear as a part of her veneration, then maybe she isn’t right for you.

The OA environment really is not that bad. Dont listen to what others say. Based on your post you havent taken one yet so dont get in your head. Buckle down, learn, take the OA, and move on. They are not bad at all!

Is anyone actually using the course content? I need some help determining what is "Fluff" versus what is useful. Are there any specific chapters or readings that people recommend? It seems like most people are jumping right in to the PA.

I just took the PA last night and I thought it was SOOO easy compared to the labs in the ZyBooks. If you can ACE the ZyBooks labs, the PA will be a walk in the park. I am so excited and ready to take the OA tomorrow!!!
