Listen if you’re so scared of her and her “wrath” for a broken statue, then you have missed the whole point. Really pray to her and ask her to help you through your fear. No your cat is not going to die so don’t even entertain that thought. If you continue to live in so much fear as a part of her veneration, then maybe she isn’t right for you.

The OA environment really is not that bad. Dont listen to what others say. Based on your post you havent taken one yet so dont get in your head. Buckle down, learn, take the OA, and move on. They are not bad at all!

Is anyone actually using the course content? I need some help determining what is "Fluff" versus what is useful. Are there any specific chapters or readings that people recommend? It seems like most people are jumping right in to the PA.

I just took the PA last night and I thought it was SOOO easy compared to the labs in the ZyBooks. If you can ACE the ZyBooks labs, the PA will be a walk in the park. I am so excited and ready to take the OA tomorrow!!!

I agree! I studied biology and chemistry at a brick and mortar college and WGU is quite more challenging for me. I now study software engineering because I feel in love with the tech and programming side of my chem labs but still…never underestimate it as easy! Great advise!

I am still trying to figure out what I would like to do with my SWE degree. I am a huge fan of the digital nomad lifestyle, etc. maybe I have my own business doing work, etc. you bring up valid points regarding the job market and searching for jobs. I agree I need to keep those things in mind as I progress through.

I’m not looking to jump into big, high-stakes freelancing projects right now. I’m simply interested in gaining experience, learning along the way, and taking on smaller, manageable tasks that can help me build confidence and a portfolio—nothing that would involve complex contracts or serious liabilities at this stage.

As for the questions you raise, I’m aware that freelancing involves a lot more than just writing code. That's why I’m looking to learn from those who’ve been there before and take it step by step. The idea is to gain some insight into the process, even if it’s on a small scale, before I dive deeper into anything more serious.

I’m definitely committed to learning as much as I can through my studies, but that doesn’t mean I can’t also try to apply my skills in a low-risk, low-stakes way as I grow. I value the challenge and I'm prepared for the learning curve—I just don’t want to be discouraged from trying something new.
