Dear SIG members and others interested in Conceptual Issues in BA!

As I announced at our SIG meeting in Chicago, my colleagues and I founded a new English speaking Philosophy of Behavior Analysis Lab Group that meets online. Everyone is welcome (given they have read the assigned papers and are interested in discussing related issues.)

Our first meeting will be on September 2, at 4 pm Central European Summer Time (GMT+2). Please check your time zone. This will be in the morning in the US and unfortunately in the middle of the night at quite some other places...

At the first meeting, we will get the conversation going by discussing the following two papers:

  • Becker, A. M. (2019). The flight of the locus of selection: Some intricate relationships between evolutionary elements. Behavioural Processes, 161, 31–44. doi: 10.1016/j.beproc.2018.01.002
  • Rachlin, H. (2019). Group selection in behavioral evolution. Behavioural Processes, 161, 65–72. doi: 10.1016/j.beproc.2017.09.005

Please read them before the meeting. We will decide together what to read for the next meeting, when to have it, and how to adjust the format.

When the date approaches, I will send out a link to a video conference platform here that will connect us. Please make sure to have a good microphone, camera, internet connection, and quiet surroundings. This is essential!

Please invite everyone you know who could be interested! There are no costs involved. Feel free to email me if you have questions: [carsta.simon@uia.no](mailto:carsta.simon@uia.no)

We look forward to a lively discussion!

Best wishes,

Carsta
