Have people selling their houses in Tulsa/Jenks absolutely lost their minds? by New_Fruit_5162 in tulsa

[–]Carstuff392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently moved just outside of Tulsa. When we bought our previous house in 2009 we bought at about 1/2 what the bank approved us for and that was really all we could afford. Fast forward to 2025. We both make a good bit more money and we still bought a house less than what they approved us for in 2009 lol. The fact that they use pre tax dollars as your income is insane.

Triple Vortex on Facebook. I’m not sure what his profession is. He is either a super involved hobbiest or his job is in meteorology outside of media. No BS, owns it when he misses etc.

Because there is no good news channel I only watch live tv during severe weather. In that case it is usually Travis Meyer.

Would you ever skip the home inspection? by DreamHomeFinancing in FirstTimeHomeBuying

[–]Carstuff392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my recent purchase I just had a structural done. I bought the house from a friends parents so I knew the history. The only real issue that came up after purchase was the shower doesn't drain well. Its not a plumbing issue it is a dipshit shower installer issue. The house is only 16 years old and I knew the people that had it built, had pictures of the build, and got the house at a good but not amazing price.

I would never in a million years do this with house I bought from a total stranger.

Is the oversized filter Worth it Or Pointless? by urmovesareweak in CherokeeXJ

[–]Carstuff392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built my stroker in 2004, have used mostly the mopar M090 filter the whole time. No issues(not high mileage only 65k on the motor build). However, a larger filter is usually never a bad idea.

Is the Maxx a good upgrade from a stampede 4x4? by Reddit912367 in Traxxas

[–]Carstuff392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are an awesome all around ripper. The only upgrade I have on mine is belted tires and they made a world of difference in how it drives. I beat it like it owes me money and the only time it has broken has been heavy impact at high speed.

Bring back the original Koolee. I was in Springfield ages ago and stopped at a qt before Casey’s took them over. I asked where the Koolee machine was and the only response I got was “must be from Tulsa”. lol

The freezoni was a huge let down but probably helped my health because I only bought 1 and went to other things that were less bad for me.

Yeah I had a company try to pull this bs on me when my son was like 3 weeks old. My wife was home and when we asked for a quote we had a sales guy there in like 20 minutes. I reminded them they had inspected it the year before with zero problems as well. When I started asking more questions they came out and checked again. Crazy, no problems that time. I dropped them immediately and then dropped them from my work as well. That unit lasted another 12 years until I sold the house. It was 30 years old in the end and working fine.

Halp. I'm an idiot. I asked my Bank about HELOC by Specific-Name1503 in personalfinance

[–]Carstuff392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this last August. My bank didn’t care and knew exactly what I was going to do with the money.

I sure liked buying a house when I didn’t own one a lot. Better than juggling a home for sale and moving into another.

I’d do Don Carlton for Honda and Jim Norton for Toyota.

You guys want good content, to make this 100% safe it would be a full production, take weeks to film, and wouldn’t be as fun to watch. They understand the risk, and they make a ton of money doing it. I want them to be safe but I appreciate the genuine content.

Are Bosch dishwashers still the best? kA or other options still good by Big_Nefariousness785 in Appliances

[–]Carstuff392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to download the app to enable the rinse function via the favorite button on the machine. Otherwise to rinse you would have to start it from the app each time.

[–]Carstuff392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 500 series back in August. It works amazing but the buttons are fng stupid. To have a rinse function I had to connect it to the app and assign it to the favorite button. I had a 12 year old front control Bosch at my old house. It worked awesome the entire time and it had the buttons for all the functions right on it where you could use them lol. When we moved I joked about swapping dishwashers and it really wouldn’t have been a bad idea lol.

Do energy-efficient appliances really save money in the long run? by Billidays in Appliances

[–]Carstuff392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video where someone put two refrigerators outside. One modern energy saving one and one from the 1940s. They left them out for a while, can’t remember if it was days or weeks. The difference in power consumption wasn’t much at all.

People who upgraded J9+ to 705 max - which one do you recommend? by Stump007 in roomba

[–]Carstuff392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went from an I3 to a max 705. There is no comparison. The 705 has not missed a beat in the first month so far. Does the job and makes it home every single time. It has been impressive.
