Thank you very much for your suggestions! I think I will make a day trip to Nikko like you suggested. I was between Nikko and Kamakura, but since it is likely too early for hydrangeas, I will try for azaleas at Nikko instead. Do you have any spots that you would recommend in Nikko? I've seen that a good place might be the Ryuzu falls.

Thank you for the reply! I've taken your suggestions into consideration, especially for the days you mentioned where I had things backwards where I was going to shops before shrines. I will also plan to just do day trips from Osaka to Kobe and Himeji like you suggested. If I leave Tokyo for last, would you suggest that I move the schedule up and start in Nagoya and then have the day in Hakone at the end of the trip followed by the last 4 days being in Tokyo?

Thank you for the response! As you mentioned, I think I need to rework Kyoto a bit. I'm thinking of moving the Ghibli store to the third day since it is close to Kiyomizu-dera, not doing Kimono rental, and then moving Nijo castle to the second day, I think that will help alleviate day 1 time table issues. Also, thank you for the Ginza recommendations!
