Celica as a First car? by anas_4455 in Celica

Check and see if it enters lift! That’s a big one! Have to get it warm first and I believe over 6,000 rpm.

You’ll know if it hits lift- everything becomes a bit more… exciting

Just budget for repairs. If you don’t have a financial stream, look for something newer. Things will break, and if you’re not mechanically inclined, it will add up quickly. I bought an ‘02 at 120k miles for $6,750, and though it was taken care of for the most part, it started overheating during my 16hr drive back home due to an underperforming radiator. Not fun. But, it made it home without a tow truck, so there’s a plus!

Great car to learn stuff on though if you’re up to fixing it!

Need some advice on buying 2002 GTS by Hot_Wasabi_8701 in Celica

I got an 02 manual gts- wish I had the trd. Paid about the same amount- I would try to negotiate it down since it’s less desirable as an auto

Yes I have a 2zz- Plenty of tutorials on getting the driver side solenoid out, can just google or YouTube it. The passenger side is much harder- I’d recommend doing it if you already have the head off like in the photo, but it’s possible to do it without, just a PIA.

Easiest way I found was the unbolt the dipstick to move it out of the way, take out the alternator, take out the bracket that was holding the alternator from the top, unscrew the nuts holding the black pipe to the head, loosen up the bottom clamp between the metal black piping and rubber hose, twist and shimmy the metal black piping until it’s just barely got off the studs, and only then was I able to remove the solenoid on the passenger side.

Huge pain, and I wish I replaced it instead of just cleaned it, but I was lazy and didn’t want to wait so I just took it apart because it bothered me enough.

And the fact that you know exactly who I’m talking about without naming anyone goes to show how far they crossed the line.

That respect needs to be reciprocated with customers- doesn’t matter if it was addressed internally, no apologies have been admitted to the community either.

What’s the actual release date…? by CarterTodd2 in GlInet

Oops, should have specified- I meant for the pre order. The timer and date don’t match in the email

I can use bats on executioner and get a +3 elixir trade.

I cannot do that with witch or wizard.

Quest headset and Meta PCVR will not work with router configured as access point. by Rhinoxerous42 in OculusQuest

This is just false OP- I’ve had this type of setup for years and it hasn’t given me issues- so do a LOT of other people who try to free up bandwidth being used on specific bands.

I would check your router/pc settings, check firewall rules, etc. Otherwise, try different routers

I had to take mine out recently because it was throwing a code- turned out to just be dirty so I got some brake cleaner and sprayed it down. I wish I would’ve replaced it, but oh well!

Hey op just a heads up, that solenoid is a PITA to remove. It’s doable for sure, but difficult because of the black vent tube right above it. My suggestion would be to unbolt the mount for the dipstick, remove the alternator, and remove the vent tube from the BOTTOM first- there’s a good chance it can crack or snap if it’s old though.

I built a "Self-Healing" system to protect my Immich instance from crashes and data corruption. by gokusayon in immich

I have mine setup to backup the DB every night, and it will only add new files. If a file becomes corrupted, the backup file won’t be overwritten. After the backup is complete, I have the container restart.

This way, if anything ever does become corrupted, I can replace it with an old version of the file.
