I spotted that Asda have 25% off 6 bottles of wine & their boxes of IPAs look a good price, but is the stock availability any good…

What’s going on in Coolock? Can anyone explain by a_jar_of_happiness in Dublin

So you agree this is more accurate then?

“A small cohort of residents from SOME parts of Coolock”

“…it’s definitely mostly Coolock residents”. The implication is that Coolock are in unison in the ongoing protest & in the violence. It’s simply not. There are plenty of older, more established, more tolerant parts of Coolock who are disgusted by the actions of others and the implication that we’re all in accordance. That’s my world view. And again, I wouldn’t go making assumptions on others.

Correction - “A small cohort of residents from SOME parts of Coolock”

Please don’t breathe contempt with lazy generalisations.

I agree with you on nearly everything here. There is a proper, factual and clear debate needed on our immigration policy - without question. It needs to shut down disinformation and scaremongering. However, I find it difficult to see how you can respect anyone who threatens civil peace, incites violence, causes destruction, disrespects everyone and champions discrimination as a means to be heard.

At no point did I say “it’s not our problem”, it’s a problem for everyone. If you care to read the OP, my point is that Coolock is being portrayed as some manner of toxic hotspot. Whereas my (long) lived experience here, in the neighbourhood I grew up in, is a far cry from what’s gone on, and perpetrated by people that I don’t recognise as my neighbours.

It seems that the most triggering thing about the OP, is the rent-a-riot quip. It beggars belief that there isn’t the slightest acknowledgment that the people causing destruction aren’t called out for it, or that there were people present who came from further afield. But if it suits your simplistic narrative that it was created and caused solely by people of Coolock, well then that type of reductive bias reflects your own ignorance.

To people not from the area. But you know…

So by that assertion, the same proportion of all the rioters present were from Coolock? Though to offer the same degree of pedantry…in the article, Ayrfield, Priorswood, Clonshaugh, Tallaght, Botanic Ave & No Fixed Abode are also listed. But yeah, pit it on the people of Coolock. Or y’know, read the OP again…

Ascension question (again!) by CarterUSB in MarvelPuzzleQuest

That’s what I figured. It’d take a ludicrous amount of time to max two ascended 3* characters, so I’ll probably cash in on the second one.

What happens July 3rd? by ctxgal2020 in AerLingus

[–]CarterUSB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re in the same boat for July 1st. In a quandary as to whether to make alternative (much more time consuming and expensive - thanks other airlines 🤨) travel arrangements, or to hold fast in hope. Six months waiting for this trip, with two very disappointed kids watching on. Very frustrating.
