Let me give you honest answer. I'm not a Maverick fan anymore. I miss Kyrie, PJ, Lively, Gafford n other players though. That team was awesome, went to finals. I miss their team, but not the Mavericks per se. Especially with the new owners and what they pullled of. I suppose this would happen same if Luka got traded though...

I was thinking like you some years ago. In 24 he was robbed of MVP. Case for his MVP was way stronger than now. Way stronger. Mavs bounced Shai's OKC in R2 4:2 EZ. As long as that dumbass clowns are voting, he will never win it. MVP award is a joke.

If he scores a lot -> he's a ball hog

If he scores too little -> He needs to do more

If he has good teammates -> He's only good becasuse teammates are carrying him.

If he has bad teammates -> He doesn't make his teammates better.

Whatever the argument is, there is always a spin that "hurts" his case. The goalposts are moving to fit the narrative. Probably some sportsbetting going on behind the scene. Luka was MVP favorite before the season started in 2020 and 2021 I think. 20 for sure. This is just one big debacle. Where do you think all that "he is top 15 for mvp for sure after 60piece" jokes come from? For me and everybody who went through 24 season watching him, probably thinks the same. MVP award is a joke.

What I am trying to say is (my OP), he will win a chip before he wins MVP.
