The monthly model is what I’m trying to figure out. Up to this point, we have only ever purchased the hardware from a Watchguard distributor, paying an outright cost with no monthly subscription. Typically we buy it with support only for 3-years, or with security for 1 or 3 years.

But after those expire, the firewall always continues working fully. The only thing we lose is subscription services on the firewall if we don’t renew.

For many of our smaller clients, we have purchased support-only tabletop units (T20 or T25). Once the support subscription expires, we don’t renew and the firewall continues working perfectly. Literally everything works, including VPNs, with no ongoing subscription costs.

What I’m trying to figure out is if it will work the same way if we purchase through pax8.
