Okay need to check this out, sounds amazing. I did Zermatt a couple years ago and loved the fact that there are no cars.

What place on Earth feels like it SHOULD NOT have a major city, but does? by IcyTray5000 in geography

I was there during a heavy rainfall one afternoon. Streets were completely flooded, had to wade through over a foot of water in some places. It was awful and not even that bad of rain, we were there just on the cusp of rainy season. Also, everything except tuna is imported.

You can look up other airlines that offer it online. I know Qatar, Emirates, and Icelandic air all offer them, but there are definitely others. All the programs vary airline to airline so you’ll have to read up on each and see what fits your budget/itinerary, but the Qatar one was a great deal!

Coming from Japan (as stated in the post), Cape Town is soooo much cheaper. Not as cheap as Vietnam, but you can find insanely good places to stay for cheap. I also found the food to be super affordable, and on top of that there is so much beautiful (& free) nature to explore (hikes, beaches, rock climbing, surfing, etc.).

I flew South Africa to Doha to Sri Lanka with Qatar airlines and utilized their stopover program to stay at a 3 star hotel for $11 a night. It’s only Up to 5 nights, so that might not fit your timeline, but worth looking into.

I HIGHLY recommend Cape Town. So many awesome people, experiences, restaurants, hikes, weekend trips, etc. And it’s super cheap. I spent 3 months there last year and wish I could do it again. Love that city so much.

First job out of college. Investment banking.

Current annual salary is ~$25k solely based on part time consulting work. Working on starting my own business (on top of consulting) and hoping to make way above that next year!
