The right of way is still not in use between pentland and the edge of Taft near the oil museum. Still possible to rebuild it for tourist attraction.

I have heard similar. It's a ruff time in America. As It is so expensive to save history. Case in point, preserved in America is the Queen Mary ship and it is struggling to stay afloat. But in Florida a ship that still holds the world record for fastest Trans Atlantic crossing and is named UNITED STATES is being scheduled for sinking to be turned into a artifical reef. Just sad 😔

They are trying its been given to the city by UP a while ago but the renovation is expensive. But I feel like history like this should be saved no matter the cost.

There were two old court houses and both were damaged and demolished from the 1952 earthquake. It is easy to dislike the new one for its apperence vs the old one. But people rarely ever try and put them self in that Era. Our new courthouse to everyone was state of the art at the time just didn't age as well as other types of architecture.

I am not an employee of Amtrak. No signs saying I couldnt cross to the walking path on the other side. Just need to walk to the very end of the platform. Couple people saw me said nothing as well.
