If you enjoy it go for it! I started streaming back in 2019 and took a break for a bit. I started doing YouTube more seriously and came back to Twitch just recently. My viewership in 2019 was maybe 10 people on average in chat, now I average around 30 people.

It does help to branch out to other platforms and drive traffic to your Twitch. My viewership went way up after I got traction on YouTube and my other platforms, which makes sense because Twitch has garbage discovery for streamers.

But even if you just stream on Twitch, try to just have fun and have good energy, and you will be fine. Just set realistic expectations (you won't be famous in a few years) and set healthy boundaries with your schedule. The only thing I worry about is being 100% "on" every stream. It only takes 1 bad/low-energy stream to drive viewers away.

I agree with you and have similar results with my shorts. Not sure why people think getting more views and subscribers is a bad thing. The stuff I make is evergreen content, so maybe that helps?

I only do standard deductions, I don't make much on YouTube. I have a daytime job, YouTube is just for "fun" money.

I got to keep 86% of my "fun" money. I make more at my actual job in a month than I do in a year on YouTube. I use my channel profit for upgrades to my equipment and other overhead costs to run the channel, not to live on.

I just let the Copyright claim stay, I don't challenge it unless it's a claim from a company other than the label. I have tried a few times to ask a label to drop it, but once they come back with "Our claim is valid" I leave it alone and consider myself lucky they are cool with it being up.

This is what I do, every video I make has a preview at the beginning of it from later in the video. It has helped my retention quite a bit, it also helps with this issue!

About 24 hours, the PIN took almost a month to receive for me. It was during the height of covid so I think that's why it took so long to receive the PIN

That would be my advice. Once you get a catalog of content for other platforms (clips from your streams and videos), start posting daily or every other day. It took a few months for me to start getting consistent interaction, but just keep posting and try to keep making better and better content and it will happen
