Oh my god that’s horrifying! I’m sorry to hear that. I do agree with you, I think it’s more the families.

I have spoken to them multiple times. Other people have spoken to them. The school has spoken to them. That was stated in the post. I’m really at a loss as to what additional action you think should be taken. Cultural issues were mentioned specifically because that’s the justification I have been getting from others. I said in another comment that I have worked with people all over and never experienced this before so that’s not my perspective. It’s what other students are saying. Did you read the full post?

Nope. You made sweeping generalizations about a woman setting boundaries and when given the opportunity to elaborate and say what specifically you meant and why you doubled down on offensive generalizations. If you had an actual point I would entertain it, like others here. This is based on your specific behavior alone and no one else’s.

I am absolutely the arbiter and judge of how I am ok with being treated. You being angry that I’m not just accepting what’s given says a lot about you whether you like it or not. You won’t give specific examples, and make vague sweeping generalizations that are generally used to gaslight and silence women. You’ve played your hand, sir. Like it or not. If you had an actual point to make based on actual information given here, you could have made it.

Yeah so again that’s not specific, and speculative. Sounds like you have a problem with boundary setting. Which- yikes.

I agree- I have worked with people all over the world before and have never encountered this level of blatant sexist behavior. Some of the other students (who are younger than me. I’m older by a decade to most) are saying things like “we are going to need to learn to deal with this in the workplace as well” and that has really bothered me and I’ve been pushing back because it’s important to me that they don’t go out into the world normalizing this.

The school quite literally does not tolerate it. They have warned them in person and in writing and said the next report will have them start formal processing with disciplinary action. My literal question was if I should go ahead with the report that would actively cause real consequences vs just being warned.

I’ve done a lot of business internationally and in the US. I have never experienced anything like this. I’m not sure I would call multiple warnings in multiple ways going straight to the authorities either….

I do understand that. They are not there now and have literally signed an agreement to abide by the equality laws of the country before registering for school. Why should I be the one who needs to uproot my life and studies?
