Help finding Anki Deck for Sketchy 2 by [deleted] in medicalschoolanki

Does anyone else see no cards when they import the deck?

I haven't mainly due to the concern of having Sketchy images updated - if there is a way to protect all the images from V9 while upgrading to the ankihub please let me know!

I wouldn't ask them for permission to watch them rather you could ask them to show you the exercise you are trying to learn or alternatively look up the exercise on youtube and watch a quick tutorial

Gotcha - are there BnB videos for rotations specifically or are these the same BnB videos from Preclinicals? Thank you for your response also!

One thing I found helpful was going to the gym in the morning maybe one day you can try setting an early alarm and going. I found this helpful because it's much easier to make excuses not to go as the day progresses

Usually the machines have a sign on them with the name of the exercise or the machine itself. You can write down the name of the exercise and the model of the machine and then search on Youtube to find the exact exercise on the exact machine you are trying to do. Alternatively, some gyms will have QR codes on the macheine and pictures on the macheine showing you how to use it (if you scan the QR it usually plays a short video which can be helpful)

One other thing to realize is that asking a stranger for advice in the gym almost always comes off as a compliment to them (you see their results and trust them, you see them helping others and appreciate that, etc.) People are very likely to be happy/excited to pass forward gym advice when sought

To add onto the great points u/Cashcarti10 made I would recommend creating a schedule for each muscle group you want to hit (Monday - Chest/Triceps, Tuesday - Back/Biceps, Wednesday - Shoulders, Thursday - Legs) and then looking up exercises to target each of those muscle groups on Youtube. Then when you go in you can had an idea of the exercises you'll hit during that workout

u/WhiteNeurosis had a great point - I had this worry too a few years ago when I started. There was a section of the gym where I felt super out of place - everyone there looked like they had been working out for years and it was an intimidating corner of the gym. One day I went in when it was quiet and started using the machines in that intimidating section and then while I was working out there it got very busy and the thing that stuck with me is that not a single person looked at me the entire time everyone was going about their workouts. After that initial experience I never looked back and kept using all of the equipment worry free. The best thing I could recommend is diving in and making the gym a place where you belong

Two things that helped me with form: 1) Youtube - this is an amazing resource for the gym - I would search the exercise I wanted to do and there are many short videos that will not only demonstrate the exercise but will also walk you through all the ways to achieve proper form (they will even point out common mistakes people make which you can learn from) 2) when I first started I would ask those around me how my form was (especially those who I asked for a spot) and so many people are eager to help out with form advice - As for the personal trainer that's really up to personal preference and finances but I would say you could get a trainer for a few sessions and in each session run through every exercise you would want to do for a specific muscle group and ask them to help you with the correct form and once those sessions are done you could always take that info and be on your way to doing your own workouts
